#3 Posted: 11/28/2011 7:29:44 PM I dont get this line at all. Not only that but Larimie is about 30 minutes from Fort Collins. I'm guessing the boosters will travel well. Loading up. |

#6 Posted: 11/30/2011 9:34:52 AM Well it could be a trap but i felt the same a few weeks ago with kstate getting 7.5 with texas and it was the better team winning regardless of line trickery. That is the case here. Large. Good luck |

#8 Posted: 11/30/2011 2:19:53 PM Wyoming doesn't need this for a bowl invite. They're already eligible and are forecast for either the Independence or New Mexico Bowl.
That said, the Cowboys should cover this easily. Vegas has had Wyoming wrong all year as both a dog and favorite. This is no exception. Line opened at 6 and dropped to 5.5. It will like rise again.
The only caution here is that it is the Border War. And it may be the only game this year that CSU gets up for. But my hunch is that they go out with a whimper.

#9 Posted: 11/30/2011 3:53:45 PM The Pokes end their regular season, as usual, against their
biggest rival. They’ll be searching for an eighth victory that
would bolster their bowl hopes.
Air Force became the fifth Mountain West team eligible for the
postseason on Saturday, with the league contractually tied in to
just four bowl games.
“I’ve heard a lot about [the Border War],” Smith said. “As much
as I hate losing, I’ve got to shrug it off. Next week’s the biggest
game of the year.” Seems like Wyoming still needs this to get a bowl |

#10 Posted: 11/30/2011 7:17:24 PM Anybody from Wyoming or Northern Colorado will tell you that this is the "biggest game of the year" every year. The Border War is the oldest rivalry for both schools, and one of the longest running in the nation going back. These schools and their fans love to hate each other. That's all Smith was referring to in his statement.

It was the AD Paul Kowalcyk that was fired and not the head coach Steve Fairchild. From what I've read,Fairchild will probably be fired at some point after the Wyoming game.

#13 Posted: 12/1/2011 2:30:22 PM Yeah, I posted too soon after hearing some unofficial information. Fairchild sounded like he had been fired before he spoke to reporters at this week's news conference.
I apologize for jumping the gun on this story. My bad.

#17 Posted: 12/3/2011 11:00:15 AM Colorado State is starting their second string quarterback for the third game in a row.. In those games CSU has gone 0-3 scoring a combined 46 points in those games but the kicker for me is that he has thrown at least one interception in each of his starts.. Rivalry games are usually close unless turnovers come into play.. Im betting that Wyoming wins the turnover battle and covers the -5.5!!

#21 Posted: 12/4/2011 8:27:39 PM It's official tonight. CSU fired Steve Fairchild Sunday. Fairchild compiled a 16-33 record over 4 years and lost three straight Border Wars. |
