#1 Posted: 3/23/2012 6:07:18 PM I know it's a dump and I get what I pay for as far as the hotel part goes(I didn't book the room btw).
However, I can't figure out why anyone would wager at their sportsbook except out of sheer laziness of not wanting to go anywhere else.
My first three wagers placed there didn't match what the board had them at. It's a dry erase board btw, that is not updated frequently enough to keep up with any line swings. None of my first three wagers matched what the board had as the line or total for the game. One of these lines was a full 2 points off. When I questioned the guy working the desk he just shrugged and said that's how they operate. Thankfully none of the games I had were affected by this discrepancy but I could easily see where it would affect other games, especially in basketball.
My real eye opener was was when I bet Kansas State in their second round game vs. Syracuse. My ticket matched what the board had at +4 1/2. The very next guy after me bet Syracuse and was given a line of Syracuse -5. I only bet $50 so i'm positive my wager didn't swing the line a half point.
I informed the guy of this and just shook my head and walked away. I wouldn't be shocked if the next Cuse better was given a line of -5 1/2 and the book was just hoping for a 5 point Cuse win.
Anyways, I know the I.P. is about to go through renovations and I hope one of those renovations is an electronic board in the sportsbook to avoid this kind of issue in the future. |

#6 Posted: 3/25/2012 1:08:52 PM I will go a step further and say the IP isn't THAT bad, hotel-wise... Anyone who is sketched out by the IP rooms needs to spend a couple nights in a Bakersfield Motel 6 (or better yet, a "Siegel Suite") to get things in perspective... |

LOL. I have stayed in a Bakersfield Motel 6 and the IP so I know exactly what you mean.

Holy cow you may want to consider reading things twice or practicing your reading comprehension skills.
That was my point, I'm positive my $50 wager didn't swing the line. Therefore they are giving bettors different lines at their choosing, depending on what side you are betting.
Nice try at trying to bash me though. |

Or how bout they get with the times, invest in an electronic board that updates numbers as they move, and then not spit out the wrong number on the tickets as they are wagered?
How bout that idea?
Or if they are going to continue with these practices, hand out some more drink tickets or practicing on customer service practices?
Is it really so hard to ask for the correct number to be posted?
Oh and btw, the one time I did ask for a wager to be cancelled because I didn't like the number I was looked at like I was Jerry Sandusky at a Boys & Girls Club.

#11 Posted: 3/28/2012 4:34:45 PM Even with electronic book set-ups I never walk until I check for Side/line/amount. Bottom line ALWAYS check your ticket. I've gotton tickets that were wrong from all types of set-ups. |

#12 Posted: 3/28/2012 11:06:13 PM When my old buddy Sonny Palermo (Real Name Richard) was the manager at IP, it was a good book, sonny would even be present and help make some of the lines for the the ceasers palace owned books and he would tell everyone the criteria used to make the line, one constant was no matter what was used to make the line, they would always shade 1 to 3 points towards the sweetheart team. |
