#2 Posted: 9/7/2010 12:46:57 PM im probably going with the Giants seems like the safest play on week 1 . also da Bears could be a good play |

Not a good idea to take a divisonal road team for your first pick.
Giants and titans appear to be leading candidates. |

I also like Green Bay -4, Titans -6.5, 49ers -3, and I am thinkin something crazy like Vikings MONEY LINE!!! Mwahahahahaha.

#10 Posted: 9/7/2010 2:24:03 PM Arizona is my best bet. Great road team. STL should be out of whack... might get on track down the season but not for week 1, yes braddford is starting. I think ARZ is undervalued coming into the season. Derek Anderson is not the best QB, but he has the skill to get the job done, not a huge fantasy threat but someone who can get the W for his team. Throwing to fitz, breaston and doucet, with beanie and hightower tearing away and the rams defense, should not be a close game.
I'd love to hear defense for the Rams though before i turn in my pick if anyone wants to sway my opinion :) (might be tough though)

Couple of reasons
Rams will be imprved in my opinion
Cards in chas over QB situation and losing Boldin will hurt them as well.
Game should be close but can see Rams winning it |

#14 Posted: 9/7/2010 2:54:46 PM week 1 survivor.... I'm breaking all the rules....
normally I just roll with Tom Brady.... and I never take a road team....
all signs point to the Giants, Titans, and Bears (highest 3 home spreads)
but not for me... not this year.... Carolina beats the giants all the time.... Oakland burned me last year when they beat the steelers, they scare me.... Cincy pulled a shocker in Green Bay last year and half the pool was elimated so no Brady and Pats this year.... Da Bears can very well lose that game to the Lions.... yeah the lions suck, but how much better are the bears? hoemfield advantage at soldier field is meaningless with not weather conditions in september...
My pick....
The SF 49ers..... I know, road team inter-division.... but are you telling me Carrol has that team up and running already? not to mention TJ Housh is gone.....
I just feel that the running game of the 49ers and defense will prevail.....
good luck to all!

Yeah i guess it is possible to pan out that way, but I don't see Boldin as someone they will "miss". They might function better without him, not saying he isn't a playmaker, he just doesn't like being a #2 to anyone. His injuries/drama won't be missed. I just don't see the improvement in STL that much either. I mean SJAX is a beast i won't lie, but backsurgery is serious. Also, I guess anyone is a upgrade from bulger rookie or not... But week1 for a rookie quarterback isn't usually all roses. Expect to see a pick and some sacks. I respect your opinion, just saying i do not agree.
