Can the Devil Rays really do that? Even if they were to sign Barry Bonds?
Right now the Under 73.5 at The Greek is +130
Seems to good to be true |

#2 Posted: 2/25/2008 5:16:09 PM I would go under or nothing. They might be improving, but having to play in a division against the Yankees, Red Sox and Jays will be too much for them.

#3 Posted: 2/25/2008 5:56:39 PM i think they can win 74 games. pitching will be improved with addition of garza ... so kazmir, shields, garza is a pretty solid 123 probably 2nd in the div behind boston.

#4 Posted: 2/25/2008 6:49:42 PM I love the Rays over. Might be my favorite over of the season. They have improved their defense a half a run a game already with their offseason moves. The acquisition of Bartlett at SS may seem minor but will do wonders for their ERA and Garza is a quality third starter. Longoria is the best prospect in the AL and should start at 3B moving Iwamura to 2B and with Crawford, Pena, Upton and hopefully a healthy Baldelli they can produce runs. Kazmir-Shields is easily one of the top five 1-2 punches in baseball and Garza could be nearly as good. Wheeler and Percival should improve their bullpen.

#5 Posted: 2/26/2008 1:46:03 AM The prob. is they have to play the Yanks and Sox 17 times , I would have to take under or nothing |

#9 Posted: 2/26/2008 10:35:06 AM I think they are improved, but just based on the fact that they havent won that many games in the history of the franchise, I would take the under. |

#11 Posted: 1/23/2009 2:33:43 PM I find it amazing to look back on people's predictions that are completely off. I mean the ones that are a full 180 of what the team really did. |

#12 Posted: 1/23/2009 8:51:01 PM What's cool is the fact that with the running bets at places like Matchbook you can always come back and hedge or look for a better price later as time progresses. I really like this subforum, futures provide a lot of investment opportunities.

#14 Posted: 1/31/2009 2:52:46 PM Love this post. I do think the Devil Rays are a tad deeper this year, however so are the Yanks and Sox. I have no hope for the sad O's until Darth Angelos sells them. Bottom line is how they fared last year against these (yank/redsox) two teams. A respectable 14W & 15L vs. Red Sox and a poor 7 W & 12 L vs. Yanks. I think they fair worst this year so I would lean under, but its super close. Good news for the Rays, they don't have to see Moose anymore. |
