I've seen Fed do it against Tsonga, had 5-0 or 5-1 in the 3rd and lost.
never thought I'd see it from Nadal though, unreal.

#66 Posted: 5/10/2012 1:20:33 PM next year ion is changing the balls as well
Madrid tournament owner Ion Tiriac tells DPA
that despite the controversy over his selection of blue clay for the
event, he is already working on another innovation: Phosphorescent green
or orange balls. "We will improve the ball well," he said. "We think it
fluorescent green or fluorescent orange, which grabs more light and
works best in contrast with the blue clay."

No one is bigger than the sport. However, this will be a very interesting future debate with this blue clay moving forward because the media and tv people are loving it. The ball is so clearly seen on any tv and with ABC and ESPN on the verge of backing tennis as their next big contract, I can't see how there won't be more blue clay in the future. If anything, the experts and specialists will adapt the mixture and tinker with the consistency of the clay to get it more like the red stuff every player seems to prefer. I for love love the wildcard factor of this stuff and makes the game more enjoyable for the viewer. Same cannot be said from bettors who consistently bet heavy favs blindly. This tourney has been a dog bettor's dream ATS and straight up.
One thing is 100% sure, Ian Teriac will not be this events director next year, but controversy is what you get for letting an old school Romanian tennis legend mobster run a legit 1000 level event. |

#74 Posted: 5/11/2012 1:51:42 PM Yep! Odds were:
+1000 for verdasco to win 2-0
+850 for Verdasco to win 2-1
I put $20 on each bet and won the Verdasco to win 2-1! |
