'Carnivale' was on it's way to being one of the best until HBO axed it after season 2.

Ya Dutch. Carnivale was such a well done period piece. The plot was developing so wonderfully. Farking HBO axes it to make 5 more seasons of that piece of trash Entourage. Nick Stahl was excellent

It very well could've been the best series I know of..... We'll never know I guess.

Californication is another one that won't make too many best ever lists..But the writing and dialogue is some of the greatest ever.

Nothing compares to The Wire.
