I guess in my mind tho the profile of someone like protostar is that he did not have a planned ending...
I still think that some point in his life he was suicidal and at some point in his life he was in some type of rehab situation... The come to jesus part is a logical possible outcome... now he raps about how christ saved him from the mess he was before when he was gambling/using/depressed/suicidal etc... 
Protostar as all people on covers are different percentages of being both themselves and not themselves at the same time...
