Do what the "locals" do.............casually walk around and collect losing tickets that are left all over the race and sportsbook..........

Does anyone honestly believe that the servers know the difference between a "live ticket" and a "dead ticket"..........

....Besides, just show her how much "money you lost" on those tickets and throw her a buck...........Jack Daniels and coke, anyone???

I only go to Vegas a couple times a year, but collecting losing tickets and showing them to the waitress DOES NOT work at Mirage and/or Treasure Island.  These books give you drink "coupons" (good for that day only) and you have to present these to the waitresses before they even take your drink order.
That being said, you can pick up a drink coupon at the Mirage from bettting $2 horse bets if you tip the ticket-taking peeps. I'll usually bet a favorite to show and get $2.20 back about every other bet, so it works out for me.
Good luck!

oh yeah, at the hilton (I see it's now the LVH) they didn't care or even really look to see if you had a ticket. One of my broke buddies wasn't even playing, but they would still keep bringing him drinks since he was at least tipping them a buck or whatever.

No matter how much you tip your not going to get Jack Daniels, you will get a well brand.  If you want upper shelf buy it.

Bellagio, my friend..........

The same booze that goes to the "big boys" in the poker room can also go to you.............just be intelligent about it....the service bar for the sportsbook also services the poker room.....

Why is this so difficult?

If you need a drink bet $2 on a horse and get a drink and a bet for $3 with a tip and that is not even required but enguaraged if you want good service.  Or go to the books that dont require tickets.  Nothing is free in this world.  Its only free after you pay for it one way or another.

Yeah, you won't get anything free anymore.
MGM changed their sportsbook policy concerning free drinks.
They use a drink ticket system now.
I believe you need to bet at least $50 for a drink ticket.
Could be $100 on sporting events.
No more $2 show bets or $5 parlays for a free drink.
Bellagio is the same but they tend to treat you better with multiple tickets when you ask.
Monte Carlo is good about giving tickets when you bet below the minimum required.
I felt that the Venitian allowed you to rack up the drink tickets as well.
Good Luck, where there's a will there's a way!

If you've got a friendly ticket writer, it never hurts to slip him a $5 and ask for a couple additional tickets.  Usually they'll help you out if the manager isn't standing behind them

It takes a $100 worth of bets to get 1 drink ticket at the MGM and thats after you have to ask the grumpy girl for one... Forget the drink tickets, there's an ABC store 2 minutes from the MGM Sportsbook and you can buy cheap beer and wine there. It's in the alley where the subway is. Or buy a small bottle (Jack?) and a coke and make your own drink.  The other thing you can do is buy a beer in a signature cup at the books bar for $11 and hold onto the cup cause the refills are $7. Not bad considering it's a 32oz cup.

Many consider the MGM book to be the MGM hallway
Horrible layout - it's an after thought , as said more like a hallway
Avoid if at all possible

I was just at The Bellagio on Monday night watching the first half of the Steelers vs Redskins. I noticed that nobody ordered drinks when the waitress came around the first time, which I thought was weird. And THAT was after 1/2 an hour. About 30 minutes later, she came by again and a couple of guys one row in front of me ordered drinks, and the girl asked them if they wanted to pay cash or if they had drink tickets. The dudes looked stunned and asked if they started charging. She said yes. Nobody else in the entire book ordered while I was there, about an hour and ten minutes.

I placed most of my wagers at The Mirage and at The Flamingo ( I stayed at the flamingo.) When I placed my bets at The Flamingo - 4 different baseball bets of $40 each - I got a couple drink tickets. I tipped the girl at the counter $5 just to be nice. The next time I played, the same girl gave me 2 more drink tickets when I only played 2 games, one for $30 and another for $50.

On Saturday night, and this happened last year on the same night, a girl would come by around 9PM or so during the late games and treat the sportsbook just like the race book. As in, free drinks. Again, that was at The Flamingo, and that book leaves a lot to be desired. Only one working big screen and lots of tiny screens. Tough to watch games there.
