The Flyers make the Islanders look like top tier franchise.  Terrible contract, nice to see they learn for Ilya's deal.

60 MILLION in the first 4 years = Not gonna play to hard if he gets dinged up a little.

For whatever the cosmic reasons are... Once a player from any sport gets paid... the results go DOWN.

They can still trade him to Philly at any time I believe. Or pay him 26m next year then trade him elsewhere, hes made it clear he wants out of Nashville.

Weber hoped he would land in Philadelphia. Now, he will likely end his career in Nasvhille.

I DOUBT that. I think the Preds are just looking to get something back for him. maybe get the Flyers to do the Shenn-Couturier deal? OR get two or three "top players" somewhere else?

...

...

my understanding is nashville has to keep him for at least a year...

gutsy move by this franchise...

maybe im naive but im thinking nashville's honest intention is to build their team around this guy and rinne for the next decade...

don't forget this was a 104-pt club last season...they can compete, and with the good kids they have coming they have a chance to be a real solid contender for a long time...

Maybe they will trade him to the Rangers for Stu Bickel, Mike Rupp, and a First Round Pick in 2014
