In satellite tournaments on-line what do you use as a playing strategy? I always seem to get deep into the tournament but fail to finish in the top three.  These tournaments start off all crazy with people moving all in and having like three callers pre-flop.  I try to wait it out but then I am surrounded but crazy loose aggressive players that have huge chip stacks.  Sometimes I hang on and get a good run going where I have a chance at the end but often these large stacks suck out on me.  It is an ongoing thing.  Is this typical in these types of tournaments online?

I think best strategy is to start out VERY tight. Fold, fold and fold some more unless you are sitting with obvious hands like A-A, A-K, K-K and a few others. The degenerates will take each other out by throwing all their stacks in with A-10 and other junk. There are a ton of people that get on there and go all in a few times to try and get huge chip leads, which CAN work, but most of them are too stupid to know what to do with them after they get them.

If you are getting down to the nitty gritty and only top 3 get the seat, it's hard to tell what to do. You really have to read the players. Some get really tight, and some get very aggressive because they know most others get tight and they will steal a lot of pots. Personally, I think to have a shot in those Sattelites, you have to get aggressive once you are down to the last 1/3 or more and try to build your stack in order to have a chance at the end. --- I tend to have the same problems and run into huge stacks. I play them patiently but if I never get any cards to play, I'm screwed and end up losing my stack to them.

play tight , until blinds move up then play smart w/ position , but if you are in a turbo , you have to push when yor stack is getting low pay attention to what players you can take advantage of
