CleeK111, thanks a bunch man!

But one more question, maybe a stupid/ignorant one...but, 3 of the tournaments say they are 3 day events and 2 of the tournaments say they are 4 day events. Does that mean the longest an event can last is 3 or 4 days (depending on the tournament of course)?

It says 3/4 day events simply because of the time allotted for each level for that event. There are so many people that sign up for the small buy in 1ks...usually 1 to 3k people. The 3day events are faster than the 4 day events simply because they may play 10 to 15 levels in a day as to playing a few less in the 4day. Remember that there are so many levels played in a day and once that level is reached, the play of the day is over. However if there is plenty of time left for that day, and x number of players need to be eliminated until the cash starts, they will play down to that number.
So yes, if it says 3 or 4 it will end on that day.

Excellent CleeK. Thanks yet again. Just out of curiosity, are you planning on playing in any of the events this year? Right now I am strongly leaning toward playing in the July 1st event...simply because airfare/lodging is cheapest for these dates

I doubt I will be able to this year. I may travel to Vegas during WSOP time, but doubt I'll get to play. Most of my poker income came from playing online and when the two big online sites got shutdown in US last April, I havent played any online this year or making as much playing live to supplement $5k in playing 3 tournaments like I used to.

Another thing you can do is to start watching youtube videos of last year's WSOP events if you can find them online. Look at how people in hands are acting and how people not involved at all are too. People give tells off both times.

Honestly you have a good chance of gaining sponsorship tags while there then asking on here or any websites. It is results oriented unless you are sitting next to a celebrity or a pro that the tv/espn will focus on.  I remember last year one of my friends was sitting next to Tom Dwan in a $2500 event and he was offered by a training poker site to wear their badge for $1000. He accepted and put the sticker on his shirt since the cameras were around his table every few hands to check out Dwan's progress.

Also you can approach or hope to be approached by these sponsor people. Its not hard to get a sponsorship if you know who to talk to while there. You will see these ''runners'' with a bunch of badge and papers in their hands. If you see one you approach to ask if you can be considered and they will ask for your seat location and chip count. If you are a chip leader or in the top 10 they may consider it as well. You can get a deal from a few hundred dollars up to your buyin back. However if you are a chip leader in a huge event and will be featured the entire time, you will be approached by many and can earn a lot.

Oh wow. That is good stuff. I guess I just assumed that for a 1k buy in there wouldn't be such offers! Thanks for the nice info man, you have been a huge help

I don't know if sitting next to Tom Dwan would be awesome or terrifying haha

AD, get all your worrying out now. When you sit down, it's time to be a stone-cold killer.

Practice, practice, practice, and then watch those vids........

"a stone-cold killer" I love it Hawk

Unfortunately where I am there are 0 tourneys I can play in  so that just leaves me to watch as many videos and read as much as I possibly can

But yeah, the whole all in Aces pre flop is just one of those situations where I don't even like thinking about it. Obviously, you have the best hand pre flop but its just a scary thing to put your tournament life on the line pre flop  I'm not sure if I'm being a box, or logical?

Nonetheless, thanks for the advice samuelsosa
dude if you are sweating the preflop AA you are going into this with the wrong mindset.Good Luck and have fun.

I think this idea has been misconstrued. After further review, the only situation where I think I would fold with pocket Aces pre flop would be if I was literally on the bubble. Because I would be so enraged to be bubble boy
