Great read as always Salty.

It leaves me scratching my head though because there is no way I would tolerate a woman telling me what time I should be in bed.  Never have, never will.  Been married twenty three years now and one of the secrets to our lasting relationship is separate bedrooms.  She doesn't have to listen to my snoring and I get to be left alone after sex.

Sure, we have our together time and plenty of it.  We eat all our meals together.  There are TV shows we enjoy together when I'm not involved in a game (she's not allowed to watch games with me - bad karma).  We take car rides together to talk and knock of errands.  But at bed time we always do our own thing.

I've also learned to keep the Ambien in my bedroom.  DO NOT drop those pills unless I am tucked safely in my bed.  In the beginning I would sit up typing covers posts and eating half a cheesecake without any memory of having done so the next day.  I once took my entire on-line sports account of over $2K into the on-line casino and doubled it on blackjack.  Crazy garbage.

Everybody is different.  Some guys need a routine and must be in bed the same time every night like clockwork.  If you're that type of guy, so be it.  The bottom line is that no self-respecting male should tolerate his woman dictating bedtime.  As you get older, you realize that you either do your own thing or be miserable.  It's really that simple.

goose it sounds like you have a sleeping issue tho... if not you wouldnt be taking sleeping pills... routine is key for people with sleep issues...

but this is a good discussion... especially for people that are married or in relationships...  my wife used to dislike our slightly staggered sleep schedules, but it gives us both some time to do things on our own and get things done... we also have slightly staggered work schedules to with it...

now she actually likes it...  she knows I am not leaving the house so she feels safe and with in a few hours I will laying down to sleep...   I can decide when to wake up, usually wake up a little early if I smell pancakes...  because with her having time in the morning, it is nice to wake up to a nice breakfast on occasion...
