#1 Posted: 5/2/2012 6:38:20 PM Palhares is a beast, but I think Belcher is a better grappler than he's given credit for.
On the feet, Belcher is better and the longer / taller fighter. I see Palhares trying desperately to get it to the ground and Belcher trying desperately to keep it on the feet.
I don't think Belcher will kick much, as it opens up the takedown for Palhares. I see Belcher moving and avoiding some tough spots and scrambles and pulling out a judges decision.
Belcher +240

#2 Posted: 5/2/2012 8:46:42 PM .....i think belcher is in for about a year long vacation rehabbing his knee....i will admit those are some pretty good odds....if he keeps it upright you have a good chance to cash |

#3 Posted: 5/2/2012 10:29:09 PM I don't want to say Palhares is a one trick pony, but he's a one trick pony. Belcher is too seasoned and savvy to fall into an obvious submission which is Paul Harris' only way to victory. Ive been saying that this fight is going to look like Marquardt/Paul Harris. |

#4 Posted: 5/3/2012 1:13:15 AM I know you're backing Belcher, but anyone else think Palhares by KO/TKO +2480 is just an insane line?? I had no play for this fight and probably wasn't going to bet it, but I threw something on that. Palhares pounded the crap outta Dan Miller, he only survived because it's impossible to finish that dude. Belcher's been TKO'd twice and Palhares has big power.
Currently +2100 on 5dimes..

I like the value in the bet, if Palhares decides to pounded on Belcher, but Palhares will likely go for the sub, if he doesn't get it, he's might get stopped himself, but your bet is solid if Palhares takes a safe, ground and pound approach. |

#8 Posted: 5/3/2012 9:50:46 AM Looks like only 4" As far as competition, they've both beat, I think belcher has beaten better guys. Dan miller is the only notable for palhares. Subbin drawl, massenzio and branch are not huge accomplishments. Plus palhares packed it in vs marquart |

You among others are underestimating Palhares' wrestling and overall TD skills. He has very solid TDs and last I recall Belcher doesn't have the greatest TDD. A guy with good wrestling and great BJJ along with strength is no one tick pony.
That said at these odds I think Belcher is a steal. I pick Palhares but I wouldn't of thought it would be at these odds.

I believe what he means by one trick pony is that everyone knows that Palhares has to get the fight to the mat to win. He's an amazing grappler, but his game plan is easy to figure out, but hard to stop so far. |

#14 Posted: 5/5/2012 11:31:40 PM Damn.. I figured it would be competitive and wouldn't be an automatic sub when it hit the ground, but I didn't expect that. Forget sprawl and brawl, Belcher got right in his face and had confidence wherever it went, ballsy.
Nice call

#16 Posted: 5/6/2012 11:05:12 AM I had belcher, even tho I got killed all night... But darn!! Was that exciting. When palhares is like a boa grabbing his leg, you don't know what's gonna happen. When belcher was dropping the bombs I was so excited. Never seen such an exciting ground battle. Belcher is awesome. Beat down the man nobody would fight |
