#7 Posted: 11/16/2012 4:30:42 PM the fact that the jays are willing to take a chance on melky for only 2 years means we mean business next 2 years. i love how AA is going for broke knowing that at the worse he can trade some of these guys in the 2nd year for prospects while also allowing our deep minor system to develop until everyone is ready.

#8 Posted: 11/16/2012 4:59:28 PM AA is handcuffing the Blue Jays if these moves don't work out. They will be untradable if they do perform poorly because the contracts are hefty |

#10 Posted: 11/16/2012 6:07:45 PM True, but at some point every team ha to take chances. Some fail, some work out great, that's te name of the game. That's like saying what if Jones comes out and has a garbage year? These types of risks are the ones you have to take to bring you to the next level. |

#11 Posted: 11/16/2012 6:27:29 PM Glad to see other teams making big moves. Not all that happy this team is in my team's division but it's nice to see. |

Well good thing they still have a pretty good farm.
After all these additions they still kept there best positional prospect and 2 best SP prospects.
Jays still have alot of ammunition left to make things happen.
They could trade Arencibia to a team looking for a young C.
They could trade Rasmus and have Gose take his spot
They could trade d'Arnaud and get back something good
Theres rumours that the Jays might still sign Shaun Marcum. |

#13 Posted: 11/16/2012 6:39:38 PM The Jays are definitely going to get another pitcher this offseason. Marcum's been there, done that and would be a good choice for them but no doubt they will get someone. |

#14 Posted: 11/16/2012 6:42:03 PM If the Jays sign another top 3 start (i.e. Marcum) I don't see how they're not the favourites to take the division. Their rotation to start the season would look like this:
- Josh Johnson
- Brandon Morrow
- Shaun Marcum
- Ricky Romero
- Mark Buerhle
Realistically, the rotation is interchangeable from 3-5, unless Romero does return to form, then really anywhere from 2-5. The only teams that is on par with this rotation is Tampa Bay. Oakland has some good young arms, but I don't think they compare quite yet. They were on pace to be the most potent offensive team slt year before the injuries, and have finished top 5 in the league in offense in the past 3 years with the same major pieces.

1 thru 5 thats basically as good as any rotation in the league.
Like I said earlier the Jays still have lots of firepower to make more things happen. They could put a package together of JPA+Rasmus and get back a solid piece and just replace them with top prospects d'Arnaud and Gose. |

#17 Posted: 11/16/2012 8:40:23 PM This is unreal. I expected maybe another pitcher to be added to the roster, but not another big bat in the lineup.
1. Reyes
2. Melky
3. Bautista
4. Edwin
That is as scary a 1-4 as you will find in MLB |

Tigers are better imo. Why should Melky bat near .300 again next season?
