I noticed here that dd has quite a bit stronger correlation than it has the last few tournaments, so I dug into that a bit deeper.

It's not so much that being long was a predictor of success - it's the opposite of that - not being long was a very strong predictor for not making the cut.

Out of the 57 shortest DD averages for last year, only 7 of those players made the cut.
