#1 Posted: 4/13/2012 3:39:58 PM So I don't really follow hockey, but I'm a gambling degenerate so i thought I would place a bet on all 8 series just to have something to follow. After getting my first 4 or 5 series in I came across the Rangers/Senators series and find what i thought would be pretty good value, so I lay a little chunk on the Rangers, only to find out it was just for Game 1 (which I ended up winning), so have any of you made the wrong bet and how did it turn out? |

#2 Posted: 4/13/2012 3:49:27 PM Hahaha. Yes
One time I placed a drunken wager late at night on an early tennis match the following morning. I thought I bet on the player that ended up winning when I had the loser.
Talk about a terrible feeling. I was rooting for this guy the entire time even though I had a bet against him. I thought I won $500 when the match ended, but when I checked my account, it was $1050 lighter.
Lesson learned kids: Don't make drunken wagers. Served me right.

#3 Posted: 4/13/2012 3:50:10 PM Over the last 45+ yrs, not many. Only since the internet became the betting site and yes I've screwed up a few. Mostly on O/Us. Some winners, some Losers. Oh well, garbage happens. |

#6 Posted: 4/13/2012 6:18:02 PM I accidently bet Iowa St in CFB against Oklahoma State last season. The Cyclones ended up pulling the upset so that was a pleasent surprise.
I have had a few losers though where I bet the wrong side and have had to eat some juice buying out of a few online bets where I checked the wrong box. |

#9 Posted: 4/13/2012 8:34:23 PM Couple years ago I bet the Daytona 500,a few drivers..one or two was in contention so I watched it ALL DAY..(The race where the track had a pothole they kept patching) My drivers ended up losing, but next day or so I realized I bet the Cup season winner, not the 500.So I had season bets on Harvick and Biffle (Harvick had a real shot @ 28-1) and they both lose anyway but did come down to the last couple races..in freakin November.
This wrong bet also prevented me from any deposit bonuses available because of working bets out there... |

#12 Posted: 4/14/2012 7:46:57 PM Of course the infamous hammered latenight bet when you wake up hungover as all hell to watch your nickel or dime play. Sweat your behind off for 3 hours and win.
Go to check balance following the game and there is no wager. You forgot to click final "submit." |

#17 Posted: 4/14/2012 11:21:48 PM Alcohol flows through casinos and sportsbooks like the Amazon river during the rainy season. There's a reason for that.
Computer lockout is what we need after sober bets on a daily basis. Offshores would WEEP if that were to surface.

I've even added extra an 0 to a bet, ended up betting 1500 instead of 150 which turned out to be a loser

#21 Posted: 4/16/2012 4:27:19 PM This Sunday I'm at the track and each seat has a betting screen and you bet from your seat with a card. I wanted to bet $500 on the 8 horse@aquduct but this fool next to me was screaming about the 5 horse at calder. You know it I ended up with $500 on the 5 horse at aquduct and the 8horse won but I didn't realise until I made a bet 20 minutes later that I rooted the wrong horse home. |
