#5 Posted: 3/6/2012 1:17:14 PM I just went back and looked at the history of the track...Jeff Burton has a pretty decent track record there. He did well at that track before and after the modifications. Of course, bet $ with Burton at your own risk...a lesson I'm sure we all have learned the last couple years. Also, my sleeper this week I'm going to look at in the matchups is Ambrose. He finished 14th in that horrible toyota he was driving in 2010, and last year finished 4th.
I ended up down a couple units on my bets last week...it could've been a lot worse. I had several wagers on Newman in the matchups although I had a good bet on him to finish ahead of Kahne (lucky). Newman eliminated me in the survivor pool...finished 21st...sigh. Not my week. Time to rebound...love the Biffle pick. He looks like he's in line for real good year.

#8 Posted: 3/6/2012 2:05:30 PM 1st cookie cutter of the year, should be real interesting as the 1st 2 races where Kenseth and Hamlin certainly weren't expected to win, hit.
This year has been very strange thus far, look at Nationwide as you have Buechler and Sadler as your winners thus far?????
Look at the odds of the winners thus far....Kenseth was 22-1, Hamlin was 14-1, Sadler was 40-1 and Buechler was listed as the field at like 8-1.

#12 Posted: 3/6/2012 10:12:20 PM only odds 2 win that jumped out @ me was biffle @ 20/1 this week just like last week is so wide open due to it being the start of the year, think we have 2 focus on match up's more then winners... 1 early HAMMER PLAY 4 me joey-juan -115 think joey is off 2 a GREAT start and that will only help his confidence as the yr. goes on... on a NATIONWIDE NOTE play BRAD 2 win asap if u look at the field i don't c how him or stenhouse doesn't win... kyle's team is struggling in the 54....

#14 Posted: 3/7/2012 2:58:22 PM have to agree with what stats said, have been doing pretty decent on matchups on the year, but have yet to hit a race winner. Seems like I am throwing away money on them early this year.
Kyle will probably open up at 5-1 or less at Bristol next week.

#16 Posted: 3/8/2012 5:24:57 PM Think Matt Kenseth (12-1)is worth a look here. Bringing chassis RK-741. Unloaded four time last year. With two wins (Texas and Charlotte). And finished 2nd at Michigan and 4th at Homestead. Texas and Charlotte being cookie cutter tracks just like Vegas.
This chassis also qualifies well . 2nd Charlotte,3rd Michigan,4th at Texas and 6th Homestead.
So we got a chassis that has four starts, qualified no worst that 6th and finished no worst than 4th.

He has a terrible record at "cookie cutter" tracks. Too aggressive.

Totally agree...hopefully the books over compensate. I wanted to fade Juan this week pretty hard. Was able to grab ambrose over him, and burton over him...also jumped on hamlin over kurt. They seemed pretty juicy to me...hopefully we see some matchups we can work with.
What's the deal with Truex? I didn't think he was going to have the equipment to be this fast...is he going to be able to keep it up?

I think ur giving the books to much credit. Don't think you'll ever see value on those 2. Hopefully I'm wrong. |

#23 Posted: 3/11/2012 10:07:25 AM M&M's is hit or miss here at vegas and he is starting in the back. he is going to win Bristol next week though.
Ambrose and Joey for longer shots this week with 17 being my favorite
I do think Biffle will be strong today as well.
I also believe there is going to be a big wreck and some contenders will be busted up. |
