#1 Posted: 4/30/2012 5:59:39 AM I want to get some opinions on how to withdraw this money before I make my decision on how I want to do it. I won 60 grand and want to get it out. What is the safe way to do it? Bank wire 8k at a time? |

#3 Posted: 4/30/2012 9:10:56 AM Good luck.....last year this withdrawal would have been no problem by wire or certified check. Now- let us know when you actually get it.... |

#4 Posted: 4/30/2012 9:41:31 AM Getting it is not what I am concerned about... getting it and having my bank frozen is more the worry for me. Bookmaker doesn't stiff anyone for 60k. It's peanuts to them |

#5 Posted: 4/30/2012 10:34:23 AM I'm in the same boat as you only looking to get about half of that out but still a large withdrawl.
I really don't want to have my bank account frozen or have to take it out in increments $2500 or below via wu or money grams. |

Yea this is what I read about last night the bank wire is the only way it seems to take more than $2500 out at a time and it has to be a minimum of $10k and no more than $50k |

Get in touch with Bookmaker. Tell them you will be coming to their office to pick up the check. Take a flight to whatever shithole country they operate in. Take the cheque to their bank. Open an account there. Get a debit card with a $5000 daily withdrawal limit.
Take a flight home. In 12 days, you'll have all your cash in hand. |

#11 Posted: 5/1/2012 2:26:25 PM Not worth it for a few grand. Well worth it for 60 grand, plus you then have a foreign bank account, which is always handy. |

#12 Posted: 5/1/2012 3:10:29 PM Can you open a bank account in another country without having a permanent address or being a citizen of that country? |

Sure, I expect so. I know so.
I did call Bookmaker CS though, and it seems they don't allow you to come to wherever they are and pick up your cheque. I can't think of a good reason why, other than they're near to broke.
It appears they are in Costa Rica or maybe Panama. Someplace with a Latin American CS guy.

pretty sure not many books would allow you to come pick up a check, not just bookmaker.
