 .......passed away a few days ago. He was one of the pioneers of hard rock.........& it was with his band that Sammy Hagar got his start. I know a lot of the younger crowd doesn't know him, but he was the garbage back in the day.......excellent guitarist.

 It's a shame.......I just found out that he & Sammy were planning to reunite on Hagar's annual birthday gig @ CaboWabo in Oct., which I was planning on attending for the 1st time.

  I am not a really big fan of his but " Open Fire " is a very good guitar instrumental album.
