The sound on this thing is a bucket of garbage.

Can ya just go out and buy some external speakers to plug into the back without a flight manual instruction packet?

 Doubtful.........the downfall of the new, skinny tv's is there's no room for real speakers, & they don't provide amped outputs for sound. You'll have to rout your sound through your receiver/stereo.

There are audio inputs on this thing I just noticed. I assume that's for a stereo system plug in?

It's just a bedroom television but c'mon. This dungpile sounds like a ham radio from 1961.

 That's for audio from your cable or set top box...........if you just use a coax connection straight from the wall you won't use them, but if use an S-video or component connection from said boxes then you'll run either a red & white rca plug combo or a digital coax from the box to the tv. If you want sound from your stereo you'll run the audio cables I mentioned from the set top box straight to your receiver.
