Peter is right. I started tailing the system July of the previous year and it yielded good results. I don't know about the pre-all star game though as I haven't jumped in yet at that time

#2028 Posted: 6/7/2012 11:55:04 AM Yeah, there were only about a dozen games in June last year. May and July had the most.

#2029 Posted: 6/8/2012 4:13:43 AM The Orioles are very very close to a play tomorrow. The RPI difference between them and Phi is 41 points and the Orioles are at home. I'll take the Orioles with that difference.

If I remember correctly the rpi for interleague has to be a few pts higher. not 100% so if someone can verify who also played last yr.

#2038 Posted: 6/9/2012 10:40:25 PM This is what I was telling you about... bet the dog.
If dog wins game A, then bet the fav in games B and C (2x the wins)
If dog loses game A, then continue to bet the dog in games B and C (you lose the juice factor and still win more than you would have just betting the FAV in GAME A)
instead of winning 1 unit... betting the dog you are possibly winning 1 unit and then-some. instead of betting a GAME A at -200 to win 100 you could be betting 100 to win 180 or 200. Obvious, yes I know. but the results thus far have been WAY better than the outcome I had in May. |

this sounds like a really good idea. have you done any back testing? i remember winning a crap load of A games last season after the all star break though. |

#2040 Posted: 6/10/2012 9:12:06 AM i have not but i am playing this way until those first game win.
like i said in a previous post, the dogs have been winning most of the series the rpi system has selected...so playing dogs allows you to bet less, win more...but if you had to pick a neagtive you are playing the worse of the two teams. but as i said the dogs are cashing. |

#2042 Posted: 6/10/2012 11:47:34 AM I don't know if there is a case to backtest the DOG in the A game. Last year you would have failed, but this year it's working.
This is just an adjustment because of the weird start.

exactly....i am just adjustin, but not just taking the dog in the first game but thwe whole series and then flipping to the fav after that. the backtesting should be on the dog winning at least one. we have all the favs from last year just need to see if the dog cashed in every series. |

A little capping on Humber (mlb.com) would have told you this:
After putting together three quality starts in his past four trips to the mound, Humber struggled against the Blue Jays on Tuesday. He threw 37 pitches in the first inning and gave up five runs in five innings pitched.
Maybe if a pitcher's last game was rough outing, don't bet on them |

#2048 Posted: 6/10/2012 10:20:04 PM You gotta read this!!!
As his family mourned around an open casket in Brazil, the boy inside woke up—but only long enough to ask for some water, witnesses say. Then Kelvin Santos lay back, "dead again," according to his father, in a case that's prompted a police probe. Suffering from pneumonia, Kelvin had earlier stopped breathing at a hospital; he was declared dead, placed in a plastic bag, and given to his parents, the Daily Mail reports.
During the wake, Kelvin reawakened, asking for water, his family says. "Everybody started to scream ... We thought a miracle had taken place and our boy had come back to life," Antonio Santos says. But "then Kelvin just laid back down, the way he was. We couldn't wake him. He was dead again." The family took the boy back to the hospital, where the staff confirmed he was dead without explaining the situation, Santos notes. Now Santos has complained to police over what he believes to be medical malpractice. "Perhaps they didn't examine him properly ... I'm determined to find out the truth," he says.

#2050 Posted: 6/12/2012 2:47:06 AM Nothing falls as official system plays tomorrow but my chases for starting tomorrow are:
-SF Giants : Astros are playing better as of late but against the solid starting pitching of the Giants, I don't think Houston could possibly sweep SF on the road.
-Baltimore Orioles: The Pirates have overachieved so far this year and their winning record is a pretty deceptive because they've been on the fortunate end of a lot of one-run games. The Orioles are a whole other beast and more potent offensively than any team the Pirates have faced. No way the Pirates sweep the Orioles in Bal.
Detroit Tigers: Simply put, they have to win. The huge comeback against Cinci I think has turned this club around and I see them taking 2/3 at the least in Chicago. I sure as hell don't see the awful Cubs sweeping the Tigers
Texas Rangers: I shouldn't have to say much on this one. There is simply no way in hell the Rangers get swept at home by the Diamondbacks. No way in hell.
Seattle Mariners: I've followed the Mariners for years and I know exactly how bad they are. You guys have seen me post many plays against them this year. With this stated, as bad as they are, they are not nearly as bad as the Padres. Seattle played San Diego last year and not only did they sweep, they flat out dominated the Padres.
Take it for what it's worth, but I haven't lost a series chase yet this year on my own personal plays. Good luck to all!
