Not sure how I feel about this as a Kings fan. Although Richardson hasn't done much so maybe a little shake up will be good. |

#4 Posted: 6/4/2012 2:32:14 PM good to see Gagne back and ready to play BUT have to question WHY "Henery Hawk" would want to FOOL with his lineup? |

I think it's a 1 game thing for this reason. I think no matter how many games you play, if you play in a SC Finals game you get your name on the Cup (not 100% sure though). |

#8 Posted: 6/4/2012 2:43:34 PM And in comparison to the end of the reg season and rest of the playoffs the 4th line has been pretty quiet. Gagne has a lot of experience against the Devils and Brodeur having played in Philly and Tampa and scored his first goal as a King against the Devils in October 2011. May just be looking for more production from that line and possibly the PP. |

Ya there is definately a requirement because it happened to Brian Bickell of the Hawks a couple of years ago. He is the cousin of someone I work with. I did find out that if a player doesn't meet the proper requirements the management has the last say whether the player gets his name on the cup. Bickell never met either requirement but Quenville and Bowman thought he helped the team enough that he deserved his name on it. |

#10 Posted: 6/4/2012 2:48:51 PM I am a big fan of my man Gagne but I have to question the move. Tinkering with a lineup that is 14-2 is just begging for trouble. Gagne will not be in game shape and if his lack of dash allows a devils player to get a jump on him up ice for an odd man rush that leads to a winning goal, it will be this move that will have given the devils a new life and made this a series again. His timing will be off which will also open the possibility of errant passes and in general throw off the timing of his linemates.
Both games so far were just one shot, give away or deflection away from going the other way. This move could create a negative of one of these as much as it could create a positive. I don't know if it's a necessary gamble. We shall see how it plays out.
If it's just to get the name on the cup then why not wait until you have won 3 games? Maybe Richardson was not doing a lot but was he doing anything negative or making any mistakes/giveaways? Sometimes just not making any mistakes is a big positive itself this time of year.

#11 Posted: 6/4/2012 2:49:16 PM Just looked it up.....A player must play either 41 regular season games or at least 1 finals game to get his name on the cup. The NHL will make exceptions for things like injuries ect. |

Agreed. Although Gagne has been on the ice and travelling with the team since end of round 1/start of round 2. So I'm not too worried about his conditioning.
There are rumors that Richardson may be hurt/too banged up though. Who knows. |

#16 Posted: 6/4/2012 3:11:44 PM I'm gonna be really happy for him, Williams, Stevens and Hexy. Those other two can go blow eachother.

#17 Posted: 6/4/2012 3:56:07 PM If Richardson is hurt, and Gagne plays like garbage I would rather see them bring Kyle Clifford back. Kid is an animal. One of my favorite players on the Kings. Hard nosed 2nd or 3rd year player that isn't afraid of anything or anyone that just wears teams down with his physical board play. |

You don't go screwing with a lineup that is on a 14-2 run in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Bonehead move by Sutter. He better hopes Gagne scores some goals to help put this thing away or people will be talking about this move down the road.

#25 Posted: 6/11/2012 4:22:50 PM Very Bold move but yet in turn its a terrible move...... i don't know why they even attempted to put Gagne in with a record in the playoffs they have..... or had for that matter... they lose tonight!!!!! Devils Game 7 |
