#4 Posted: 11/8/2012 4:59:13 PM No but speaking of Legos, I got my 10 year old nephew some sets from the Architecture series for his Birthday and he loves them. They have educational value.
Considering that the Holiday season is almost upon us, I recommend these sets to kids if there's any Cover members that don't know what to get their children/nephews/grandkids. |

Thanks for the tip Slobb, my nephew's into the Lego Star Wars and Harry Potter sets (and soon the Lord of the Rings sets) - will look into the Architecture series -- can't believe these boxes of plastic cost so much now.

#9 Posted: 11/9/2012 12:03:31 AM I used to take my son quite often until he turned 12 which is pretty much the age where they consider Legoland lame but it's a great place to take young kids. I have a lot of wonderful memories of that park and Carlsbad is a beautiful town. I know they've added on to it since we went last which probably made it even better.
When you get to the top of the Technics Coaster, you can look out over the Pacific Ocean. The view is spectactular. I recommend getting there right when they open. You can hit a lot of rides in the first hour before it starts to get a bit crowded. Have a good time. |

here's my review.
highly recommended but it's probably for younger kids of about 4-10 or so. i guess you have to compare everything to disney world. it was better in that it's new so it's cleaner and the rides are smoother. last time i was at disney world, i realized what a fuckin dump that place is. it wasn't crowded even though we went during veteran's day weekend on a saturday. the rides were great for people in the age group i mentioned. unlike disney world, there's really nothing they can't do. easy to get around. if you have kids in the 7-10 age group and they've been to disney world, i would definitely try legoland instead.
