This Ralph Vaughan Williams piece is perhaps my favorite of all 20th century classical music.

"Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis"

As Classical music goes, popularity-wise,  this is the equivalent to what "Hotel California" is to Pop music. Some may even qualify this selection as being cliche, but, I couldn't care less. It's gorgeous.
