#56 Posted: 2/1/2012 7:33:32 AM I'll say it again - if there is a better cricketer than David Hussey anywhere in the world who hasn't played a test match, I haven't seen him.
He is superb, a real old-school gamer |

How the darn is George Bailey captain of that side?
What does he bring? A decent fielder, yes, but what else?
Must suck real good cock. |

yeah its a strange call, they're obviously keen to test the wares of a few players from 'left field' in the lead up to the Ashes next year etc.
I guess its as good a time as any because in all honesty this upcoming month or so of ODI's will be completely forgotten by everyone as soon as the final ball is bowled in early march and the footy kicks off. So if these guys flop, its no real biggie. |

#61 Posted: 2/1/2012 6:43:57 PM Australia arent a better team than India......No way....
The difference between the teams in the INTENT....
The Aussies are all competing for spots, running in with anger and purpose, hitting the deck hard WANTING to kill the batsman....
The Indians on the other seem as they have a mortgage on there positions and play like it.....
The Indians are playing as if they have nothing to prove, where as the Aussies are playing they have everything to prove...Thats the difference....
You think Aus will be like this when they go overseas? |

Australia have the advantage of players coming directly from playing in this format but India have the class factor. Cue for Rostos to call Raina a pimp

Starting to think India won't beat Australia at all this summer....

#63 Posted: 2/1/2012 7:18:04 PM First thing India need to do is drop Sehwag and tell him to go back to India and clear his mind. He is mentally shot and he serves no real purpose in the team when he is simply a walking wicket

Sadly Sri Lanka are not going to be much better. It's going to be a training run for the Aussies over the next month

Bullshit. Australia are a better team than India. I reckon a 4-0 flogging (2 by an innings) pretty much confirms that. Oh, and that follows a 4-0 flogging in England, so that's 8-blot for this overrated friggin rabble.
Tell me which Indian player would force their way into the Australian side? |

True, but I think the Indians are definitely under performing due to their sEriously fragile mental strength |

I think SL will pose a challenge.......The lost the series in SA 3-2...In the last 2 games they chased over 300 and won....SA didnt have Steyn but SL didnt have Mahela......
They also should have won the 3rd game if it wasnt for rain.....
I have a feeling SL come in with some momentum......They have the best one day bowler in the world in Malinga...... |

Mate, since they won the world cup they are acting and playing as if there garbage doesnt stink, team members like Sehwag, Gambhir and co as if they are undroppable from the team...Furthermore, there chairman comes out and basically says, who cares, as long as we win at home who cares what happens O/S.........Imagine being a player like Sehwag, Gambhir and co, failing everytime and the chairman of your board says who cares, as long as you win at home, what message does that send? These guys are just here for a holiday, thats all.....They went to England after they won the WC and got thumped, then when England when to India they got thumped.....
Tell me which team is going to perform better?
Aus, where all the spots are up for competition (Ponting , Hussey playing for there careers), Cowan, Warner trying to impress knowing Watson, Usman are hot on their heels, Clarke trying to prove himself as a captain and the bowlers which is the most hotly contested spots in all of cricket....Siddle didnt even want to rest, because Cummins still has to come back, Starc, Cutting.........its all competition and they are all playing as if it is there last game.......Haddin was bad, but imagine how much worse he would have been if Wade wasnt up his behind?
Now look at India.....The chairman says, dont worry, who cares if you lose overseas, you will never be dropped, NEVER. Sehwag, Gambir, Tendulkar, Laxman, Dravid, they will NEVER be dropped and are playing like it.......Duncan Fletcher probably wants to sack half the fools on this team but is not allowed. Imagine sacking icons Dravid, Laxman and Sehwag. He wont be allowed back in the country......
The only reason why they play so good at home because of there reputations are more on the line in India.....
Aus arent that good, trust me....NZ minus Vettori beat them......and if it wasnt for Michael Clarke getting clean bowled off a no ball, who knows what would have happened........
The NZ bowlers especially Bracewell came in with intent, he also wanted to rip the heads off the Aus bats and looked what happened...
You will eventually find out.... |

#69 Posted: 2/2/2012 3:24:47 AM Australia drew a series 1-1 in South Africa. They are inconsistent at the moment, but even that improved after each win against India. India can make all the excuses they want. They are still dishing up absolute garbage at the moment. |

That 3-2 scoreline is deceiving, Saffers were up 3-0 in the series and rested Steyn, Amla and Kallis to name a few in the final 2 games.

wonder if there will ever come a time when the ashes are contested bascially every year ?
I realise it's tough with the need to rotate opponents over a period under the current schedule but 2-3 years between series just seems too much, especially given the baron state of test teams outside the leading few. |

That's what i love about you Aussies, You beat up on a bunch of hairy, fat arsed buddhas and all of a sudden you think you can hang with the big boys again.
Let's see how your team does against the likes of South Africa and maybe even Pakistan. If you manage to not get bowled out for 30 again and you actually win a test or two then start talking. I understand England have had a few problems with Pakistan recently but it happens from time to time, On our day we're the best test side around by a country mile and i fear the crowd attendance for the next Ashes maybe low because everyone seems to think we should win 5-0 against the Oz. Hopefully the Australians can stay competitive to keep the British public's interest in the next Ashes by beating the buddhas and the Sri Lankans. |
