If you play golf then I'm sure you understand how important trends are. You usually play better and score better on courses youre familiar with. You usually have a tendency to putt well on either fast or slow greens. The aesthetics of a course standing on a tee also factor in how well you strike the ball and put the ball in play. Then, of course, we have all the basic stats we follow regarding how well a player does in every category. But as far as playing golf, it obviously gives you a perspective that the non-golfer isn't able to recognize which is huge when laying wagers. I like your concept of golfer vs course but since we have such a young and new generation of golfers in the Masters this weekend, I put more emphasis on recent play, players psyche and, of course, putting. A lot of these golfers haven't played this course but a few times in their life or at all. |
