#1 Posted: 4/28/2012 11:38:48 AM They were favored -130 yesterday w/ Weav. All AL Central teams play like garbage at home (weird stat). Thought it was a decent wager but didn't like the FAV status, and toyed w/ the idea of playing T. Hunter and Pujols on the Tot Bases prop. Sad when you can't count on them for the W.
They are too business like, trying too hard to relax (so therefore they're uptight trying too hard to have fun, etc.)
EVERYONE'S waiting for this team to bust out like banjees. What if IT never happens?
After Texas, they are the second FAVS (ahead of the NYY) to come out of the AL.
Today appears to me, to be a nec. win, to avoid a LOT of chatter and negative talk (rare for laid back California). Artie Moreno is probably the BEST owner in all of baseball. As a Yankee fan, I know how tough they can be on us--lottta respect for them.
Indians can hit a pitcher like Haren.....Don't like AL Central teams at home, but seems to me every team wants to take a chunk outta the Angels--before they become beasts and go on a torrid win streak.

#3 Posted: 4/29/2012 3:53:49 AM Nice 2-1 victory--although should have been 4-1.
Sunday: Santana has had good starts (minus one) and Derek Lowe should not hang around in this one--THAT more than anything would surprise. Halos are not fighting for runs or having break out innings as a team.
Like the Angels TT to hit 4 runs here (Sunday). |

As an Angels fan, I can't stand Moreno. Until he changes that stupid "Los Angels of Anaheim" Crap he gets no love from me. The people of Anaheim are insulted by this crap. |

#6 Posted: 4/29/2012 4:13:21 AM I'm sorry, but how can you say you're an Angel fan and say you can't stand your owner?? All he's done is go out there and show his commitment to winning by signing the best ball player of this decade and the best free agent pitcher out there. I'd be building a shrine for Arte Moreno if I were an Angel fan. |

Being that I am originally from Anaheim that's how. I don't give a flying crap on who you sign its about respecting the city you are representing. |

#10 Posted: 4/30/2012 2:39:22 AM Can't figure out these Halos.. Some kind of indentity crisis going on. Little adversity would do them some good. They had that Adenhardt tragey that unified them; they've responded well when other teams or the media discounted them; they need something to shake them up. They cant just have the mgr tell them how wonderful they are, or how much "comfidence" he has in them. They need turmoil, heat in the dugout, emotion and fire. Pujols needs a kick in the butt.
There is NO winning without fire and desire. |

#11 Posted: 5/5/2012 1:27:37 AM Santana has set a ML record for going 0-6 AND being shut out 5 straight times. Talk about your lack of run support.
Halos rank 12th (out of 14) in hitting.
Pujols with NO HRs.
Fine batting intructor in Mickey Hatcher. WTF is he doing coaching others to hit? All he ever was, was a great knowledgeable cather. Not a hitter at all. |

Actually, Drabek pitched pretty well. Those 5 earned runs came from relief, so the line looks worse than it was.
Angels still are scraping for runs.
Seems EVERY pitcher is glad to knockout Pujols, and teamates are waiting for him to do something....kind of a Kobe-itis syndrome.
Like the Jays today, but actually prefer the under more. I could be wrong, but looks like just one team will get to 4 runs, but not both, |

#15 Posted: 5/7/2012 2:17:49 PM An important series to win...Friday May 11, the Halos go to Texas and face Darvish. Good time as any to start playing premiere Orange County baseball and test your best vs the favorites to win it all.... looking forward to this series. |

#16 Posted: 5/16/2012 12:10:23 PM Lost series to Texas and couldn't hit. Cost batting coach Mickey Hatcher (longtime friend and colleague of Mike Sciosia) his job, as fans were blaming him openly.
They need to gel as a team, but you can't force it. Looks like they will have a neutral year, play .500 ball, have some success, flashes of brilliance, but be unable to bury teams they should on paper beat handily.
They're all thinking too much. Turn off the brain waves, run around and think happy thoughts, let the game come to you. That's it, run, and as you run, think happy thoughts. |
