yeah he wanted so desperately to be fighting on january 14th in brazil but he's injured, and also he said in interviews that if chael wants to fight him, he will have to come to brazil to try and get the belt.  chael on the other hand does not care to wait that long to fight till june.  He needs to make some money, take a fight, and mark munoz it will be since he also needs a title shot and he won't want to wait till june to fight also.

if shogun is badly injured with some broken bone or some broken orbital or something, then he won't be able to make it to japan, on top of that, if the doctor gives him a lengthy suspension, he can find another doctor to clear him to train at least 8-10 weeks for the fight because we are 13-14 weeks out till ufc in japan plays

I would take Sonnen and SHogun.

The Shogun fight would depend on the line.

But I think both would be -200 favorites or so...at least.

Sonnen would easily beat Munoz.  And I am a Munoz fan.  But his wrestling really hasn't impressed me as much as is advertised.  Chael  would be beastlier for longer and would be able to get the take downs.

That should be a good one, if Condit can beat Kos it'll make a much better case for him against GSP, and it would erase some of the memories of that Rory Macdonald fight..

No doubt Koscheck is a warrior but will he be that motivated for another WW contender's bout while GSP is the champ?

And yeah I agree that Sonnen should take Munoz.  Munoz got taken down a bunch of times by Aaron Simpson, and Sonnen looked great in the Stann fight.  -200 would be a gift IMO.

sonnen announced via his twitter that he basically took on the challenge to go to brazil for anderson in june but there's no way i believe he would wait 7 months before a fight.  Waiting that long basically means he will have to face miller/bisping winner or even mark munoz, if he beats silva, might as well make some money by taking on mark munoz for the end of january on fox you know.  and yeah i agree that sonnen's wrestling will definitely overtake munoz

by the way the medical suspensions came out today for shogun and it doesn't look good at all for him to fight in japan end of february.  it's possible he might have facial fractures and he's out for 180 days until cleared by a doctor

I like Sonnen at -200 or better here.  See Okami v. Chael and Okami v. Munoz. Not saying MMA math works, but it tells us a lot.  I don't see Munoz hurting Chael in the standup.

have no desire to see rampage any longer after his pathetic showing against Jones.... he lost my respect. he's a has been now and an out of control BOZO. he's one dimensional, and can no longer compete in the UFC for a title inany weight class, most especially at 205.

Rampage....GO AWAY.

I actually think Rampage looked better vs Machida than he had for years. His wrestling is decent enough that it should be a non factor in the Bader fight. I don't think Bader will be able to easily get him to the ground, if at all. Which means it's likely a stand up battle that either fighter can win. I could be wrong... I will enjoy that fight

Plus Bones makes everyone look bad, so it's pretty tough judge a guy after that contest

For what it's worth, Munoz actually beat Sonnen in an amateur wrestling match years ago.
