#3 Posted: 11/22/2011 10:18:28 PM SC takes down Clemson. SC front 4 are amongest the sickest in the country in pressuring the QB...and clemson hasnt faced anything like the 3rd best D in the SEC this yr. SC's D is top 6-8 in the nation.
Clemson has no run game. have no defense. are pretty much a 1-2 man show. Boyd is a very legit QB, but hasnt really had mush pressure on him like experienced int eh SEC, and when he has been pressured he has been pressure he has had trouble in general and 3rd downs in general.
Watkins (CLEMSON WR) can be a game breaker, but ...
he's a freshman, he needs to get bumped/hit off the line more- bc when he does it disrupts his timing and routes. also i am not sure he is 100%. that being said CLEMSON IS BASICALLY A @ MAN team.
between SC Running game, option run game, and Conner chaws ability to make the deep pass or 3rd and long, AND THE GAME IS AT WILLIAMS BRICE STADIUM (USC)...i just think Clemson will be out muscled, worn down, and eventually over come.
look at it like this...
Wofford, Wake, Maryland, UNC, Troy, GT, NC ST, FSU & Aub all put up siginificant points vs their pathetic D...UNC made them go 3rd and long and into 3rd down a lot. Maryland should have won. Wake should have won. FSU & Wofford both should have won too...their luck ran out vs an unranked GT team, & again they got shelled vs an unranked NC ST team.
NEWS FLASH: clemson is so overated, they have beaten nobody.
ok, they did beat Va tech earlyin the season, but va tech is a completely different team now, and they just happen to catch them at the right time...it happens any given sat.
GAMECOCKS ROLL win by 6-8+pts
hell their D might score more then Clemson's O

#5 Posted: 11/23/2011 2:21:11 PM For now I think the biggest matchup is Clemson's o-line vs South Caro's d-line. If Clemson can't block better than they did against NCSU, they will be in trouble.
I suspect, however, we'll see a big improvement from the Tigers this week.
This game and the GA v GA Tech game have both been fun to cover the last five years. |

#6 Posted: 11/23/2011 8:16:58 PM Big rivalry game!!
I would have leaned toward the home team 'Cocks, had Clemson not gotten pummeled by NC State last week in a classic trap game! They were not ready for that game because they were looking forward to South Carolina this week, and the eventual ACC championship game. Dabo ripped their fools for it this week and has them focused! They'll be motivated and win this one out right!
Take Clemson ML! |

they werent ready for the game @ NC St, bc they are overrated, their coach wasnt good enough to handle all the National media attention when they were ranked high for beating shitty teams in the 5th best conference...yeah they probably were looking forward to this game, but that is where a good coach, and good team leaders and good team cohesiveness come together to get them the win.
Clemson has been exposed for the frauds they always were, and will be again on sat. granted i know rivalry games...strage stuff can happen, but SC is too focused and too determined to succceed this season.
They lost perhaps they best rb in the nation, they lost a very good QB (who was flat out nasty last yr, especially with Alshon Jeffreys, 1 of the best WR in the nation); yeah Garcia probably dug his own ditch, but spurrier handled him like garbage, always calling him out in the media. you need to keep your dirty laudry indoors. regardless, No Lattimore, No garcia, and 1 of the best WR(Alshon) disapearing bc that was Garcia's go to man...and they still over came all of that and only have 2 losses.
Cocks dont lose the rest this week. D line will reak serious havic on Dumbo Sweaney's Offense and on his ability to focus.
Cocks win and cover

#8 Posted: 11/24/2011 10:10:08 AM Clem's Son has two losses to very average teams (Ga Tech and NC ST).....and not just losses, butt whippings. I know SC doesn't have much offense but the defense is among the best. I like SC to win at home is a low scoring game. |
