Fairmont Park #3 (1:54)
Reba Nell has ran some pretty bad races, but they came against better competition with little time to prep. Has run two straight at this distance, stretched out a bit more this time and running against weaker. Was beat by Elusive Silver last time out (ES finished 2nd, Reba 4th), but Reba’s speed a bit better, especially with a bit more time off. Tydro’s a guess, think he’ll do alright with his step up to the mile, and Toton Teddie’s the only horse in the field that’s faced better competition than Reba. See a couple horses in this field I feel are a bit over-valued on the open.

Finger Lakes #5 (2:58)
Saichi Sweeping is 4-0 career, trainer’s on fire, jockey’s on fire, has faced better competition before this, and been consistent in those four starts. Do the Tiger was the only horse in the field with speed to keep up, but scratched. Taking a shot with the 7/1/9 in the 2nd leg of the exacta and tri as I expect them to be up front early, and some decent speed in a 6F race, but probably not enough for the win.

Parx #9 (3:50)
These turf races at Parx have been paying something fierce lately. Saw a $600 exacta yesterday and a $4000+ tri, will shoot for it here. Favorite scratched so losing a bit of value, but still tons there. Be My Candy bred for distance, likes the turf just as well as the others, and has the best speed figs in the race. Moving against better competition, most notably Sweet as You Are, who is taking a step down. Threw in the 2 (Game Fair coming off 1 good performance in a 4th placer at Monmouth) and 9 with some decent distance and turf appearances. Think this race is wide open, and should pay off rather well regardless. Be My Candy gets a better jockey, and back to the turf where the performances have been good. Hard to argue with this value at 12/1.

Suffolk Downs #9 (4:24)
Another jockey switch on the 8 here, which isn’t all that good of a circumstance, and neither is the speed ratings (lowest in field). Distance is there, and the competition really isn’t. Not that great of a field. Going to leave in the favorite (Storm Slew), finished 2nd in a similar spot last time out, just not sure how he rebounds early on pace having to hold it for a mile + again. Also going to include Hi It’s Me. Moving up against better, but adding blinkers and second start of the year of a poor 5F performance and at 20/1, worth a shot. Bred for distance, should pay off today (hopefully).
