Greed isn't always good. Look at Bernie Madoff.

Calling an entrepreneur greedy can be morally satisfying, and, I would say, in a lot of cases, probably true.

But the effects of his or her “greed”, on society as a whole, are advantageous.

maybe, but greed at the detriment of others is morally unjust

Some people believe it's up to the government to teach and enforce parenting. Others believe it's up to the parents to teach their own children.

Personally, I think without God, there is no hope, without hope there's no future, without a future we just live for today. That just doesn't seem logical to me.

Those same people who were judging others for missing church were keeping quiet about child molestation that might have been a problem in their families. Some of them were also the people you see smiling in photos of black men hanging from trees.

People in the 40's talked about the 1890's like they were the good ol days, when family meant something and people still believed in god.

In 50 yrs, 70 yr olds will talk about today like they were the good ol' days.

It's all bullshit, imho.

morally satisfying?

under what moral world view?  christian?

It is okay if you are an atheist or anarchist/satan worshiper... I accept what ever faith back ground you come from...

greed can seem good for an individual, but like rooster and others have commented if you are able to look beyond the "self/ego/individual" there is more to it...

problem is that some people develop their consciousness to that level while others  are simply "failure to launch"...

But dont worry, there are a few "failure to launch" people on this forum... they usually post in tandem with you

When I look at my calender and it's says 2012 years A.D.. after what, I ask ? Why isn't the date 12,000,00012 ?  And then there is B.C. , how long is B.C ? Well, they say about 6 to 10 thousand years, counting backwards, the years 6,000, B.C, then 5,000 B.C. and so on down to zero.  Makes sense to me.

I've been blessed to live a long life on this earth .  I have  seen the good in many people and the evil in other people. That makes me wonder, why do the evil ones do harm to other human beings, and creatures ? Why are they full of hatred, envy, greed. etc. ?

Then I realize that God is love, because scripture says, God so loved the world, that he sent his Son.  So I am a Believer. and I don't care what anyone here says to me about that, they can ridicule me all they want.

I have now seen it all. I agree with every comment you've made in this thread. Great points.

Society has taught people that their victims and they've learned their lessons well.

Without a doubt there's a God. Theirs no explanation for the millions of living creatures including humans, animals, then the atmosphere, gravity, et al. It's too perfect to not be created by God. We're 93 million miles from the sun. 5% closer it's too hot, 2% farther away it's too cold, in addition you couldn't be within a 100 miles of a pinhead size of the suns core. Think about that.

To answer the question, things were better in the 50's & 60's. The traditional family unit is an endangered species now. The broken home has become the norm. Kids don't have both parents and this is the proponent to not growing up with the attention and guidance that a child needs. Ask why the tats & piercing? The youth trying to get attention (look at me). It's sad.

And for those that have no beliefs and believe it doesn't matter. When was the last time that a church going kid killed his parents or went on a school shooting? If you have been taught to believe in God you likely won't commit the heinous crimes that are way, way too common in this era.

Absolutely Ken. Those that believe in God's wrath wouldn't rape children. Frauds rape children that will suffer soon enough.

Next point.
