your team is a fuckin mess.

but congratulations to getty and the jacksonville jaguars.  after 17 or so years, they finally drafted their first good wide receiver.  i think he'll be better than chris doering.

getting Clairborne was absolutely huge for Dallas.

jersey, dallas just stole claiborne from them.  claiborne should be great and is a nice addition after the terence newman disaster last season.

the bucs play in a division with two good passing teams and one great passing team.  claibone would have been huge for them.  barron will be good when he gets in situations where chris relf or jordan jefferson run qb draws.  when those situations don't arise in the next few years for him, this will turn out to be a stupid panic selection.

i guess the new owner had a lot of money burning a hole in his pocket.  $32 million seems like a lot for a guy who is now on his 5th team in five years.  maybe he didn't realize blackmon was a possibility.

but they did sign lee evans as wide receivers coach so maybe he can teach some of these younger guys how to play the position like he did when he was good the first couple years of his career.

newman is going to be such a liability for cinci this year

gonna be interesting to see what schiano does and if freeman progresses at all

jaguars are fucked either way because gabbert sucks. I do think Blackmon is going to be awesome tho

freeman looked like he was going to keep improving and be a great qb some day.  it was amazing to me how quickly he went in the opposite direction so fast.  they quit on morris last year so i guess he had to go but it seems like a big risk bringing in an unproven coach from rutgers.

NO is obviously great, atlanta is solid, the panthers are improving.
i think this organization is in trouble.

I was freaking out when they signed The Cowboys' 3rd string receiver and Old Man Evans. I figured they thought they'd solved their receiver woes.

Stealing Blackmon from Jeff Fisher and The Rams who were already fitting him in his jersey when the Bucs caved in, was classic. First time in a decade I've been proud of this organization.

However, like Jersey said, it's now or never for Blaine Gabbert. You just can't suck that badly again and get another free pass.

check out post #3. I could not believe they gave Laurent that much money. He was good when he was getting covered by #3 string cornerbacks and linebackers. But $35 million? Jeeeeeez the Jags must really like him.

Is that offensive line not a problem for the Jags at all? I remember the game at Atlanta last year when Gabbert was either running for his life or had 1 second to throw the ball before he got his head got taken off. I love Blackmon...but still a little surprised they didn't focus on any other positions so far in free agency. Still 6 rounds of draft left obviously so I am sure they will get something they need.

coples from unc, who may or may not start over tebow in kickoff coverage.  but seriously i didn't watch unc much.  if he's a good pass rusher, than it's a great pick.  maybe he'll be the next julius peppers (when peppers tries).

a funny little write-up about Irvin.....

Bruce Irvin stood in a drug dealer's house, his gun tucked away, searching for money. It never occurred to him that this might not be the best idea; that somebody might be home, that he might even get shot. In his mind he thought only one thing: "I'm going to get paid."

This is what Irvin's life had come to since dropping out of high school, when things started to go wrong and his mother threw him out of her home. By the end of the night he would be in jail, and it appeared likely he would be headed there again, or prison or something worse.

TB Bucs picking up Mark Barron [best saftey in the draft] and Doug Martin [second best rb in the draft] in the first round is not bad.Any team in the NFL would want both of these guys.I'm not a TB fan but I think they had a good first round.

it all remains to be seen but i think the two most overrated positions in football are RB on offense and safety on defense.  i'd never take a safety that high but especially when i'm in the bucs situation and division and claiborne was a possibility.

getty, disregard any positive comments i made about the jaguars.  unless this is a joke like the one with the rutgers receiver, apparently the jaguars took a punter in the 3rd round.  isn't april too early to say, "we're going to be doing a lot of punting next season."

I as well retract my statement of how "proud" I am of the organization.
