#53 Posted: 6/26/2011 3:41:00 PM watched Jennifer's Body the other night on one of the premium channels. better than most "teen slasher" movies. thought that Amanda Seyfried was cast as mousy "Needy" was a much more interesting character (and I though hotter) than the title character played by Megan Fox (who I think is over rated both as an actress AND a "beauty")
the ending to the story is actually part of the end credits. Needy hitchhiking to see the Satan worshiping band Low Shoulder "because it's their last concert". she then proceeds to make sure it is. |

#55 Posted: 6/26/2011 7:34:39 PM recently watced the 1958 Orsen Welles "film noir" Touch of Evil on TCM. had seen cuts over the years but never the whole movie. I would rate it "arty-smarty" like most Orsen Welles directed movies ex for Citizen Kane and found the Henry Mancini music score annoying.

#57 Posted: 6/27/2011 11:46:59 AM The Mechanic - Loved the ending, had my doubts going into the film, but i really enjoyed it.
Green Street Hooligans - WOW can't belive it took me this long to watch it, I highly recommend.
Cedar Rapids - Dark comedy, i actually enjoyed this more than hall pass. |

#58 Posted: 6/27/2011 12:22:14 PM watched The Edge (1997) with Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin on Fox Movie Channel the other night. well acted survival drama, but then just about anything with "Sir Anthony" is well acted. had seen snips before but never the whole movie. definately recommend.
my only questions were HOW did they train that bear and WHY does the black guy always die?

Man, I thought it was a pretty cool movie with two exceptions. Elijah Wood is a douche and they should've found someone else to play his role. It's pretty unbelievable to think that he can beat anyone up. Also, that song they kept on singing was friggin happy as hell. Other than that, I thought it was pretty solid.

#60 Posted: 6/30/2011 2:12:07 PM watched the classic A Man For All Seasons (1966 best picture oscar)) last night with Paul Scofield as Sir Thomas More (best actor oscar). the acting was excellent esp by a very young John Hurt as the weaselly Richard Rich. I think Hurt deserved the best supporting actor oscar nomination more than Robert Shaw who's portrayal of Henry VIII which was a relatively small part in the movie.
IF you liked the Showtime series The Tudors (which is currently running on BBC America), you will definately want to watch or record this when it's on Turner Classic Movies again.
