#7 Posted: 2/25/2012 3:33:29 PM it looks like we are going to see the end of an era in rampage. i agree with everything being said in here so far and we shall chip in more without coming across as a rampage hater. Rampage always has excuses for all his losses no matter what, amazingly i didn't hear as many excuses about the jon jones fight but we all well know how great he is. Hell even after ufc 96 win vs jardine, rampage talked about how his jaw was in bad shape, and i'm pretty sure any other loss he would have endured that he ended up winning, he would have had excuses for those too. He gets way too sensitive to criticism and i firmly believe he will have a nervous/mental breakdown unless he's got some really really smart people in his camp/family. He already brought up the fact that he got injured during training camp and that's why he was not able to make weight.
I watch all the press conferences and interviews and i have come to the conclusion that rampage has really bad knees. Do you recall those sidekicks to the knees by jon jones and then i believe it was on one of karyn bryant's video feeds after the fight, rampage was getting attended to back stage and we were able to see and hear his knee/knees getting worked on. The "crackle" sound from one of the knees would make you cringe. Even during the rashad evans fight, rampage complained about him punching at his knees like he had a spy or something during training camp enough to know his knees were injured.
Rampage takedown defense to me is one of the best in mma, but bader can break this down with better cardio which anyone would question considering rampage weighs up to 250 pounds in between fights. But having bad knees vs a strong wrestler like bader is not going to help him much in this fight. As rampage stated during one of his interviews, he won't take any drugs that are addicting and it is my opinion he probably would not take any steroids for healing purposes in between fights, but injuries are part of almost every physical sport being played out there. To me every single fighter goes into a fight with some kind of injury and if not they are very very lucky. It's no wonder that rampage doesn't care about jiu jitsu aside from him wanting to put on a show standing up. |
