You do realize that the market generally maintains its "true value" despite fluctuations in currency and is priced in nominal USD which have lost 30% or so compared to a bread basket of foreign currencies over the obama term (or more likely you don't realize that). So most of the "gain" in the market is loss of USD value.
As you also might be aware the "stock market" is a "bit" broader than our economy? Perhaps the housing market, gas prices, unemployment, people on food stamps et al are better indicators.
That's what obama indicated previously and by those measures and most others, he has been AWFUL.

Many responses:
1) There is no possible way that labeling caloric content on menus will cost 17 million dollars.
2) Menu labeling laws existed way before Obama.
3) He has not explained how ObamaCare will cost him money.
I'll let you email him and see if he can respond to these for you.

1. obama indicated that he did not think the level of the DOW was a reflection of his performance.
2. To the extent that it is, obviously it has to be indexed for the value of the dollar.

where did you say in your original post that it has to be indexed to the dollar?
What would your excuse be if the dollar went in the other direction?
how often do you refer to the Dow and refer to the number indexed to the dollar? Care to point out examples on this forum?
or is it Obama has exceeded the very benchmark you said you will judge him by and you can't admit it?
