I make an authentic Philly at my restaurant
I start with real ribeye meat, we slice it thin
7 ounces we use footlong ameroso rolls that you can order from sysco foods
cheese whiz in a can and white american cheese
and I use Jims Philly cheese steak recipe
I carmalize the onions and mush Not just grill them
to carmalize for example, If someone orders a Philly I put a handfull of mush and onions on the gril, I add a pat of real butter and a small pinch of brown sugar and keep turning in with a spatchula than I cook the meat with some salt and light pepper, when the meat is cooked I mix them together splash on the whiz and bam a real authentic Philly hoagee. |
