#1 Posted: 8/26/2012 3:21:32 PM watched the first episode of Copper on BBC America last night and it was excellent. it's set in 1864 New York City and has a real "Gangs of New York" feel to it. the first episode repeats Sunday August 26th followed by a new second. it airs every Sunday with repeats during the week

#5 Posted: 9/10/2012 1:20:11 AM yet ANOTHER "wild behind finish" in episode 4 where Corky's "main squeeze" Eva, the person house madame, kills Molly, her top girl, by cutting her throat in a jealous fit. really SHOCKED me and the Mrs because Molly had been a pretty big character in the series so far and we were suprised they obviously wrote her out.
just keeps getting "Curiouser and Curiouser" |

#7 Posted: 9/19/2012 5:57:11 PM I've learned not to get too attched to any one character.
That little girl creeps me out.
Whole thing makes me glad I was born Irish about 100 years later. |

#11 Posted: 9/28/2012 6:23:25 PM The show is getting better with each episode. I thought they were making Annie into a little villain. But now the next week's show is obviously going to make her more sympathetic.
The police work in 1864 is interesting if nothing else. Sure...just eat the fruit cake that's lying there...no problem...
Interesting how they show that the cops did stuff that was very wrong. On the other hand, there's more science than you'd think...

#12 Posted: 10/2/2012 4:53:55 PM Annie is turning into a nasty piece of work. kills John Reilly last week (although you can argue "self defense" considering the person had been raping here for years) then Corky does a "Brick Top" and feeds his body to the pigs.
and I really thought that Corky was going to beat the crap out of that rich girl Elizabeth Haverford when he found out she lied about sending Annie to California
will be interesting to see IF Annie goes after Corky's "person squeeze" Eva. |

#13 Posted: 10/16/2012 4:54:40 AM I did not see it comming that it was the other detective that had bedded Corkys wife.
This is the best new show of this season in my opinion. |

Yes, it looks like this is going to have a wild finish with the revelation that Corcoran's wife was cheating with Maguire while Corky was in the war, got pregnant to him, had an abortion and ended up killing their daughter by accident.
there will be a LOT of questions to answer in the finale |

#17 Posted: 10/20/2012 3:46:31 PM btw, BBC America has picked up The Spies of Warsaw with former "Doctor Who" title roll actor David Tennant. IF it's half as good as his "Doctor", it will be excellent

the BBC’s Jack The Ripper series Ripper Street also sounds interesting |

#18 Posted: 10/20/2012 5:02:51 PM House of Cards, on Netflix with Kevin Spacey also looks very interesting. Love tv series with big time movie talent.

#19 Posted: 10/24/2012 12:54:25 PM thought it was kind of a "flat finish" to this season's finale. wondering if Major Morehouse's greedy person father getting exiled to Atlanta for helping the Confederates in the Greek Fire Plot instead of being hanged opens the way for his characters return? also wondering what happens to Maguire? do they let him die on the operating table? if not, does he stand trial for his murders?
definately looking forward to next season |

#20 Posted: 10/24/2012 5:29:46 PM This is one of those shows that wins a couple awards during Emmy season and no one has ever heard of it...We can say we were part of the first group of Copper fans.
Agree about the finish. But the prior episode was so intense, they couldn't go much further...
This has to be the best first season from a show I've ever seen. Very strong from first to last episode. I'm hooked.

#21 Posted: 10/25/2012 4:22:08 AM Yeah i was thinking the same, it seemed like they needed to wrap up to many stories in the last episode. Would have worked better as a 13 ep season.
