Burned my old Gary Fisher out at the end of last year....its spring again here, so in the market for a new bike.

Looking to spend about $500 max (if possible) and looking to get a mix between a road and mountain bike (is it called a cross over?).   I do a bunch of paved and crushed stone trail riding.

Any suggestions on what type and where to get a slick new ride??

Suggestions would be most appreciated!

I wouldn't buy a bike online................ tuneing the bike up is half of it.

If get one from a bike shop, they will at least tune it up for you.

Chodaz check out your local graigslist also! I just found a gary fisher hard tail for 200$ Im going to test ride it tomorrow.
