Obviously we have quite a bit of interested players this season, as in seasons past...figured I would start it off with some suggestions/thoughts on what we should do this year. I am more than willing to run it or be involved with the running of it.

Personnally I think listing the top 10 is a waste of time.
What is valuable is hearing who players like in their top 3 or 4 head to head matchups. Either for the tournament and round by round. Why do they like the selections.

If you are looking for a fantasy golf game go to fantasygolftour.com
this is a great site and they offer $20,000 purse each week for a $25
entry fee. You pick 16 players each week and play 4 each day and the
event so for one week only so you can play whenever you want. I have
been playing for 3 weeks, paid $75 in entry fees and won over $300 so
far. Last week one guy won $5k on a $25 entry fee. I don't have anything
to do with this site but I can tell you it is the best fantasy site on
the net.

Alright, I'm going to kick it off next week so that we have enough time for everyone that wants to join to see the system...going to switch things up a little bit this year just for record keeping purposes.
1. Play will begin with the Northern Trust Open
2. Regular season will be 27 weeks going until the Wyndham Championships
3. Pick ONE golfer per week. You use each player ONCE during the regular season.
4. You get their score for the week. A winning pick will receive a 5 stroke bonus. A missed cut/withdraw/DNF will automatically be +10.
5. During the Match Play Championships the scoring will be: 1st place overall -20...2nd place -15...3rd and 4th place -10...5th-8th place -7....9th-16th place -4....17th-31st place EVEN....1st round loss +5
6. If you miss 6 weeks overall, you are not eligible for the playoffs.
7. Playoffs will be either 4 or 8 players depending on how many we end up with throughout the season. During the playoff tournaments, you will be able to pick TWO golfers for each event, and you will get their score and go head to head against whoever you are matched against.
I believe that just about covers everything. If there are any other suggestions out there...don't be shy. I figured I would start this up early since we haven't heard any whispers from anyone else.

One idea that I had for the season that might make the bookkeeping a little easier is...
One golfer per tournament...you get his score if he makes the cut...if he misses the cut or withdraws you get +10.
You can use each golfer twice in a season and that's it.
Majors count double...along with the Players Championship.
Top 8 from the regular season make the playoffs...Final matchup will be two weeks with the BMW Championship and the Tour Championship.
If you miss a week...it's an automatic +10
If you miss three straight weeks...or 6 weeks overall...you are out
Problem with this will be in the tough tournaments where +10 may be better than guys making the cut. Therefore, a MISSED CUT or a MISSED WEEK, should be awarded 10 STROKES MORE THAN THE LAST PLACED GOLFER TO MAKE CUT.
