#3 Posted: 3/1/2012 7:46:29 PM After the rest of the coverage this year, I was actually surprised at how much of the other golfers we did get to see today. I actually thought it was a bit better than what it's been. Don't get me wrong, it's still piss-poor, just slightly better than it's been.
I think it was probably because the bear trap has come to gain such a reputation that they at least show what some other golfers are doing there. |

#5 Posted: 3/1/2012 8:20:44 PM I TRULY BELIEVE THAT THE GOLF COVERAGE IS WAITING FOR TIG TO EITHER HELICOPTER A CLUB INTO THE GALLERY, TELL SOMEONE ON THE AIR TO FUK OFF OR TO LITERALLY PHYSICALLY ASSAULT SOMEONE IN THE MEDIA
MY IS ON HIS PUTTER TO SOON BE SWIMMING WITH THE FISHES, FOLLOWED CLOSELY BY THE ON AIR FUK OFF! HE CAN NO LONGER AFFORD THE ASSAULT |

#6 Posted: 3/1/2012 8:59:18 PM I haven't watched any of today's coverage yet, but I know what your saying. Why are we subjected to his medicore (at best) golf?? He's an average tour pro, who can't putt anymore!
There's a new crop of young guns coming up and before we know it Eldrick will be on the Champions Tour. We are missing a lot of these guys growing up. Anyway, I could go on and on.
You think he would play on the Champions Tour? |

#7 Posted: 3/1/2012 9:06:18 PM .... and what's even worse from their perspective is that it's a terrible business decision. If you just show tiger and phil all the damn time, you've done nothing to create your own market for when those guys either suck or don't play at all. You can still show plenty of those guys to draw the people who only watch for them while also showing a lot more guys and building up interest in them. Who in the hell wants to watch them walk from tee to green, or take 5 minutes to read a putt anyway?

#10 Posted: 3/2/2012 8:11:20 AM Blue and I talked about it couple weeks back. Its like you never get to see any golf. Just a bunch of bullshit. Hell at Pebble all we saw were those jokers instead of golf |

#12 Posted: 3/2/2012 10:18:46 AM Dont' get me wrong guys I totally agree with what you are saying, I believe this is going to be one of the better years the PGA has seen. I'll make an opposing arguement though, if you were in the PGA's spot wouldn't you put Tiger on?? Ultimately as said as it is to say, this is a business and its all about money. People watch when Tiger is on, whether they are watching to see him succeed or watching to see him fail. Again, I agree with you, just looking at the other side as well. |

#13 Posted: 3/2/2012 1:37:00 PM I dont disagree with showing a majority of Tigers shots, but I dont need to see him discussing the shot with his caddy, taking practice swings, his reaction after the shot, and then walking down the fairway, and then a quick break to see a sand shot by rickie, then back to Tiger lining up his putt |

#14 Posted: 3/2/2012 3:49:42 PM The coverage is pretty bad but I will say one thing it sure is fun to watch Tiger struggle the way he is. Now that I have zero respect for him I hope he continues to stink it up. |

You may not know it, but you're making my point for me. It's a bad business decision not to invest more time building up interest in other guys so that you attract more viewers to the 30 or so tournaments a year that phil and tiger are non-factors. |

I remember back when Jordan would play, they would show Jordan vs any team over any other good matchup. Rory might be the only other one with good size galleries, but no where near Tiger's. The galleries represent the public and Tiger is still a draw. If people are honest and I am, I admit, when I hear Tiger is playing in a tournament, I make sure I am near a TV to watch and see what he does. Just like Jordan...

NO INTEREST HERE JARRETT! I DON'T NEED TO TUNE IN WHEN I AM PRETTY CONFIDENT THAT TIG WILL BE SCOWLING & CURSING HIS WAY AROUND ANOTHER MISERABLE ROUND OF GOLF(FOR HIM OF COURSE). I ALWAYS PREFER TO WATCH THE GUYS PLAYING BEST EACH WEEK, THE LEADERS OF THE EVENT!
IT IS FUNNY YOU MENTION JORDAN, BECAUSE I QUIT WATCHING THE PATHETIC NBA BECAUSE OF THE REDICULOUS UNLEVEL PLAYING FIELD THEY ALWAYS CREATED FOR HIM. NO SUCH BIAS IN OFFICIATING THE GREAT GAME OF GOLF, WHICH IS CURRENTLY PROVING UNFORTUNATE FOR MJ'S PROTOGE' TIG! |
