They interviewed a sherriff and he said they dont even really make moonshine on the show. No alcohol is produced by those people during the show. They said if they were taping people doing illegal activity the network and everyone else would be in trouble. Do you think they would let you tape me murdering someone? So i thought this is stupid. Heres these guys you think are moonshiners and whatever they are making or drinking isnt even an alcoholic drink  . Anyway i quit watching it.

It is real but the funniest part of the whole skit was done after the fact . Makes tons of sense
