I hope you're right, Lunch. Other contenders seem to be tailing off, and if it comes down to he and Clemens, chances are it'll go to the man on the better team.

thx timotjb....
s-book has him +130 now, and he hasn't even made a start since....
I'm more worried about Pedro for some reason than Clemens....
I think Wins are overrated but the voters value the W's, so unless Carp gets hurt or pulls a Mulder its his to lose.

nice play. note also that in the last 3 yrs his era is almost a full run lower (3.48 to 4.40) POST all-star game than PRE ASG. GL.

Roger Clemens is in a league of own. No one has even come close to dominating like he has this season. Won't even be close, Clemens should receive all the first place votes.

thx for the comments guys..

I agree Clemens is probably the "best" pitcher, but the voters have always valued the "W" heavily, even if I think a pitchers W-L record is overrated.

Also, Carp's ranking in the big 3 are 1st, 2nd, 3rd (wins, ERA, K's)
Clemens is T10th, 1st, T4th. If clemens had a big lead in K's as well as ERA I would give him a better chance, but Carp has more K's, which some average fans would not believe.
Also Carp is T1st in CG's and Shutouts with 5 and 4 respectively....Clemens doesnt have a CG (and obviously then no shutouts either)

Carp is -160 on s-book today after another stellar CG outing last night vs. Dontrelle and the Fish.

Looks like you're in great shape if a certain rumor turns out to be true.

Nice...was a little nervous about it..good to see the voters make the right choice as Carp's poor Sep was a product of clinching early, he was clearly the best for the entire season.

I'm from STL and even though I wanted him to get it, I was afraid the popularity of Dontrelle was going to take over. Good Call
