#2 Posted: 7/1/2012 6:46:32 PM Mostly serious, but throw in a funny story about the two of you if you have a clean one. Don't forget I lot of older people will be there. Just make it sincere and you will probably get laid by one of the brides maids. Have fun. |

#3 Posted: 7/1/2012 6:47:59 PM Keep it short and sweet, a couple anecdotal jokes (depending on the audience) and end on the happily ever after..Jokes could be from anywhere from the past with your buddy ,but has to segway into today.Make fun of yourself,(Your jealous etc of bud's special women ) and nail the single bridesmaid at the same time later on..win-win.

#5 Posted: 7/1/2012 9:23:12 PM did it, be funny don't write anything down, get drunk first smoke big fatty. Don't do standard wedding crap. If you are single ask all single women in attendance to stand up then ask them to sit back down, makes it much easier to get banged.

Terrible advice.
Prepare, prepare, prepare. It will likely be the biggest group of people you ever address in your life.
DO NOT be completely serious the entire time.
Pay your respects to the bride and jab at the groom (not the bride or any parents!) and throw in a few very light hearted jokes about your time with either. People want to laugh at a best man speech, at least a little.
Try to give it without reading off a sheet but have the cliff notes in your pocket if necessary. |

Excellent advice. Only a f'N knob would have to write garbage down when his best friend is getting married. Tell the bride how beautiful she looks for sure but wing everything else. It is painful to watch people reading garbage at times like that. |

#9 Posted: 7/2/2012 12:30:54 AM ive done a couple of these now, and i prepared for both of them.
thank everyone for coming out, throw in something funny, and end on a sincere note.
dont read off a card and keep it under a couple of minutes. ive been to weddings where the best man or maid of honor drag on forever, and we just sit there and make fun of them for their lame behind jokes. |

#10 Posted: 7/2/2012 1:50:04 AM I've been to a few weddings, and I don't remember any of the speeches. However, I did complement the speakers for giving a great speech. |
