He has a more impressive record with handling money than our government does though. If the government were more efficient in handling tax payer money I would probably take more of an exception to this.

Not really the point, he has maintained citizenship how many years?

The OP above is right, I highly doubt the government is going to sit idle while this guy snakes out of an obligation, the same obligation other citizens have as the scale of the rate is not the issue.

The wealth was accumulated here, he should be required to keep his tax obligation here..just like Mark and the other snakes are.

Cool it bud..

Fair is fair, he lives here, the business is here, the business was built here while he worked here.

Outside insults can you defend how he should be allowed to dodge taxation on his income?

California likes Facebook

especially that $2bn tax windfall from that share sale

this week a budget watchdog announced that a tax windfall from the Facebook initial public offering (IPO), WILL DELIVER MORE THAN
$2bn to the Golden State's coffers in the next 2 years

Totally agree K

The argument, at least for conservatives like me, would lessen if our tax dollars were better spent and the investments were a success. Think about it.

Education: kids are stupider today.
Energy: we depend more on foreign oil today then we did when the
 Dept of Energy was created.
Stimulus and TARP: check out the jobless rate today (not the
 unemployment rate).
National Endowment of the Arts: no comment necessary
Environment/Green Energy Jobs: Solyndra (part of Stimulus);
cars running on algae, unicorn milk, or whatever the hell else  they can think of.
Government Employees: the equivalent employees in the private
sector get less pay and less benefits.

US To Tax Everyone, Everywhere, All the Time?

Thursday, May 17, 2012

Senators to Unveil the 'Ex-Patriot Act' to Respond to Facebook's Saverin's Tax 'Scheme' ... Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., has a status update for Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin: Stop attempting to dodge your taxes by renouncing your U.S. citizenship or never come to back to the U.S. again ... At a news conference this morning, Sens. Schumer and Bob Casey, D-Pa., will unveil the "Ex-PATRIOT" – "Expatriation Prevention by Abolishing Tax-Related Incentives for Offshore Tenancy" – Act to respond directly to Saverin's move, which they dub a "scheme" that would "help him duck up to $67 million in taxes." – ABC

Dominant Social Theme: These taxes are very important in the scheme of things. The US would collapse without them.

Free-Market Analysis: You would think with all the economic chaos swirling about that those who make the laws and levy taxes would be somewhat apologetic. Not Senator Chuck Schumer, though. He wants to make it illegal for a US citizen to take advantage of the tax laws of other countries.

Good for him.  This government has been screwing us for years.  I hope he really pulls one over on them and too bad we can't all follow suit.
