As the nation’s gas prices skyrocket, critics argue that President Obama’s recent rejection of the $7 billion, “shovel-ready” Keystone XL oil pipeline, followed by his continued vow to “double down” on green energy, is a clear sign the administration plans to do little of substance in terms of American oil exploration. The move has also stirred controversy about the president’s real intentions concerning job creation and reducing pain at the pump for everyday Americans. But could there be a more sinister reason behind denying the pipeline’s requisite permits — namely, to benefit billionaire Obama-supporter Warren Buffett?

The evidence does seem to be mounting.

People might respect Obama more if he would take some responsiblity.  Not all, just some, on Anything!!!!  All the guy does is play the blame game!!!!

But the one thing he hasn’t done is admit that thanks to himself and Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar, domestic oil producers can rarely get a permit to drill, offshore producers still face a de facto moratorium, and opportunities like the Keystone Pipeline are rejected out of hand. Yet these continue to be Obama’s gas prices. The106% price increase, we’ve witnessed in prices at the pump since Obama took office is due to his Carter-like approach to energy in this country, and little else.

Obama faces defeat on Keystone

The president has put his feet in cement in opposition to the Keystone oil pipeline. But on Capitol Hill, more and more Democrats are joining Republicans to force approval of the pipeline, whether Obama wants it or not.

The latest action happened Wednesday, when the House passed a measure to move the pipeline forward. Before the vote, Obama issued a veto threat. The House approved the pipeline anyway -- by a veto-proof majority, 293 to 127. Sixty-nine Democrats abandoned the president to vote with Republicans. That's a lot of defections.

When the House voted on the pipeline in July of last year, 47 Democrats broke with the president. Now that it's an election year and the number is up to 69, look for Republicans to hold more pipeline votes before November. GOP leaders expect even more Democrats to join them.
