I am really disappointed to read GSN won't carry High Stakes Poker in 2012. The article blamed "waning" ratings caused by the Norm MacDonald hosting. I thought he was terrible, but cancelling the show really sucks. Anyone hear of it being picked up by another network ?

I wrote to GSN and they seemed to indicate the decision was still in play, for those who might be inclined to write.

Poker has a bad rep currently since Black Friday and as long as it remains illegal for US players.

I previously liked the show but Norm is terrible. I liked how ESPN had Antonio and Hellmuth comment on play during the WSOP this past year, I think it would benefit HSP if they did the same thing. A few times Negreanu did get in the booth briefly, so I think more of that kind of stuff would boost the show and make it more informative and entertaining.

The last season of High Stakes poke was terrible. Why? Ivey, Dwan, Antonious and all the other Full Tilt talent were removed because it was sponsored by pokerstars. On top of that, the color commentating was absolutely horrific without Gabe. Without the seasoned pros and fixes in the booth, I don't necessarily need to have it back.
