Recap

Blues 4, Predators 3 (SO): Vladimir Tarasenko scored the deciding goal in the fourth round of the shootout after netting the tying tally in the third period as host St. Louis moved to 14-0-1 against Central Division rivals.

Jaden Schwartz and captain David Backes scored goals and T.J. Oshie also converted in the shootout as the Blues overcame blowing a 2-0 lead to beat Nashville for the third time in as many meetings this season. Tarasenko added an assist while Brian Elliott made 28 saves en route to halting a three-start losing streak.

Paul Gaustad, Mike Fisher and defenseman Roman Josi tallied for the Predators, who have earned points in eight of their last 10 gmaes (6-2-2). Carter Hutton stopped 31 shots before falling to 6-1-1 in his last eight starts.

Nashville capitalized on sloppy play by the Blues to erase a 2-0 deficit, pulling within a goal when St. Louis defenseman Ian Cole made an awful pass into the slot that Gaustad buried with 3:12 left in the second period. Fisher tied it 3:25 into the third with a sharp-angle shot from the right-wing boards that went off Elliott's right pad and into the net.

Another turnover by the Blues led to Josi's go-ahead goal off a 3-on-2 rush at 7:33, but Tarasenko scored the equalizer just 16 seconds later, cutting to the middle and whistling a shot that beat Hutton high to the glove side. Schwartz opened the scoring on the power play midway through the first period, converting Chris Stewart's feed in front, before Backes deflected a shot by blue-liner Jay Bouwmeester 3 1/2 minutes into the second.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Backes' goal was the 151st of his career, tying him with Joe Mullen for 11th place on the franchise list. ... Predators C David Legwand assisted on Josi's goal to extend his point streak to four games. ... Blues C Vladimir Sobotka was placed on injured reserve Saturday and is expected to be sidelined until March after suffering an injury to his left leg when he crashed into the boards during Friday's game versus Carolina. Sobotka will be re-evaluated in four weeks.
