Jets 3, Blue Jackets 2: Evander Kane returned from injury to record a goal and an assist as visiting Winnipeg ended its three-game losing streak.
Mark Scheifele also scored and Bryan Little added a rare road power-play goal for the Jets, who snapped an 0-for-29 drought with the man advantage away from home. Al Montoya made 22 saves as Winnipeg won for just the second time in six contests.
R.J. Umberger and defenseman Fedor Tyutin tallied for the Blue Jackets, who failed to earn a point for the first time in four games (2-1-1). Mike McKenna stopped 29 shots as he remained in search of his first NHL win since the 2008-09 season while with Tampa Bay.
After a scoreless first period, Winnipeg got on the board with 6:01 remaining in the second as Scheifele converted a cross-crease pass from Kane. Little made it 2-0 at 2:28 of the third, deflecting defenseman Dustin Byfuglien's one-timer from the right point past McKenna.
Umberger halved the deficit with a wraparound at 8:48, but Kane - who had missed six games with a lower-body injury - restored the Jets' two-goal advantage less than two minutes afterward with a shot from the left faceoff circle. Tyutin answered 64 seconds later with a blast from the left circle, but the Blue Jackets were unable to get the equalizer.
