Blues 4, Blue Jackets 3 (OT): Captain David Backes scored 22 seconds into overtime as visiting St. Louis posted its 11th win in 14 meetings with Columbus.

Backes took advantage of a turnover by Blue Jackets defenseman Jack Johnson at his own blue line before skating in on St. Louis native Mike McKenna (27 saves). The captain fended off Columbus defenseman Fedor Tyutin before wristing a shot inside the right post to end the contest.

Vladimir Tarasenko scored twice and Chris Stewart tallied to forge a 3-3 tie with 6:27 remaining in the third period. Jaroslav Halak finished with 30 saves for the Blues, who have won three in a row overall and improved to 11-2-0 versus Eastern Conference representatives this season.

Ryan Johansen scored a 5-on-3 power-play goal to extend his career-high point streak to eight games. Artem Anisimov tallied for the second straight contest and Tyutin also scored for the Blue Jackets, who saw their four-game home winning streak come to an end.

Tarasenko, who celebrated his 22nd birthday on Friday, opened the scoring 4:10 into the first period before bringing St. Louis to within one at 3-2 midway through the second. Stewart tied the contest after cleaning up a loose puck on the doorstep following defenseman Ian Cole's point shot.

GAME NOTEBOOK: McKenna was vying for his first victory since March 24, 2009, when he made 33 saves to guide Tampa Bay past Columbus. ...
