Recap

Flyers 3, Predators 2 (SO): Vincent Lecavalier scored the only goal of the shootout as Philadelphia won in Nashville for the first time since 2000.

Captain Claude Giroux had an unassisted tally and Sean Couturier scored the tying goal with just under seven minutes remaining in the third period as the Flyers improved to 8-2-1 in their last 11 contests. Steve Mason made 34 saves, including one on Colin Wilson during a breakaway in the final minute of overtime.

Wilson and Mike Fisher scored for the Predators, who went 0-for-5 on the power play in absorbing their second straight home defeat. Marek Mazanec turned aside 22 shots.

Giroux opened the scoring at 16:49 of the first period with his fourth goal - all coming in the last 11 games - when a blocked shot trickled toward him in the high slot and he hammered a slap shot past Mazanec. The lead was short-lived as Fisher answered exactly one minute later, taking a pass from Patric Hornqvist and beating a screened Mason with a snap shot from the left faceoff dot.

The middle session was scoreless despite three power plays for Nashville, but the Predators snapped the tie at 5:05 of the third as Wilson broke down the right wing and chipped a soft backhander between Mason and the near post. Philadelphia got the equalizer eight minutes later, when defenseman Andrej Meszaros slid a backhand pass across the crease to an unattended Couturier, who swept home his third tally of the season.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Wilson scored for the first time in 12 games. He has a pair of 11-game goalless droughts this season. ... Couturier has scored in back-to-back games. All three of his goals have come in the last seven contests after he failed to score in his first 19. ... Predators captain Shea Weber is listed as day-to-day after sitting out with an eye injury suffered when he took a puck in the face in Thursday's game versus Edmonton. Fellow D Kevin Klein also was sidelined with a lower-body injury.
